I am trying to get Ellie into preschool for the fall. I found a wonderful program that a lady does out of her house called Kindergarted ready. I was shocked that she charges $200 per month! While this may sound reasonable in some areas, I thought this was high for someone doing it out of her home. The churches charge around $115 per month around here.

The preschool at our church is $112 for two mornings a week, 9:00 to 11:30, and $147 for three mornings a week. This is for 2 1/2 year olds.

At their former church preschool, I paid around $120 a month for both boys to go two mornings a week. That included a 10% twin discount.

At the church preschool they now attend, there's no discount, and it's $170 for both of them for three mornings a week.

Wow that is CHEAP! I paid $250-300 a month for Felicia's private preschool. It was 3 hours a day twice a week the first year. Then 3 hours three times a week for the next two years.

Needless to say, the boys will not go there HA. I found via word of mouth a great preschool put on by a local high school where the seniors going in to child dev care for the kids overseen by two teachers. It is only $400 a YEAR (each). From Oct -May. THey will go in 2008. Its 2 hours twice a week. Either mornings or afternoons.

That is a little high to me as well... but if it is a good program and that is the cost for both... then they might benefit from it?

But for only 8 days approximentally a month 200 is a little costly.

The rates here are in the $200-275 a month for two days a week. The cheapest is $170 through the public school, but they only take 7 "peer" kids a year so its very hard to get in. eta: That is per kid!

In the fall, the kids will be going Tuesdays and Thursday from 9 to 12 and it costs $150/child. But I will also get a discount so it comes to $270 per month for both.

mine are starting next year and are I think $330 for both per month. that's for 2.5 hours/2 days a week. wow, after reading some of your rates, I feel ripped off! its fairly reasonable for around here...not the lowest, far from the highest, and its where my singleton goes now.

I guess it depends on where you live. Our girls will be starting nursery school two days a week for three hours/day and it will cost us around $4,000 (which includes a discount for multiple children). It's at our synogogue and it's actually the member rate. If you aren't a member, it's about $1500 more. But since membership is just a little more than that, we figured it paid to be a member. The cost is pretty comparable to a lot of other nursery schools in the area. It's all so expensive. And the fact that we still have to pay the nanny during that time...ugh...doesn't leave a lot left for other things.

    I paid $363 three times a year, so about $110 a month.

This year it is $474 three times, so $142 a month for 3 days a week.

I am looking forward to next year--K is free [IMG]

We pay $130 each for 2 mornings a week from 10-1:30. In the fall, we are switching to 3 days a week and I think it is going up to $160 a month.

My church charges $225 per child w/ a 10% discounts for twins or two children. Preschool is 4 hours. There is also the option of 3 days a week, for 3 hrs a day, for the same price.

My children are involved with at preschool program at their daycare. They have a aurriculmn, lesson plans, the whole nine yards..it's like a little school with nap and some play time[IMG] I know they have them all round the US so maybe there is one around you, KinderCare Learning Center. They charge $352 a week for 2 kidsor 1408 a month but it is well worth it!

But to answer your question about the $200 a month...will she be going full time, part-time? Is the lady certified through DCFS? If she is then that is pretty cheap, if she isn't then maybe it would be best to look elsewhere?

Wow! My 4 year old goes to preschool at our church daycare from 9:00-11:00 and it is $5.00 per day. She can go any amount I want from Mon-Thur. Last fall she went 3 days, now she is going 2 days. So last fall it cost $60 per month and now I pay $40 per month.

I think it defintely depends on where you live.

With my oldest at the preschool she went to 2 days a week we paid $130/month.

Last year for 3 days a week we paid $165/month.

I'm sure the cost went up this year though.

I just registered my girls for pre-school to start in August and I'm looking at the book and the tuition fees are as follows:

    Mon/Wed/Fri Tuition $125.00 per month

    Tue/Thu Tuition $85.00 per month

Mon through Fri Tuition $190 per month

The hours are from 9 AM - Noon. This is per child and if you have more than 1 child, the 2nd child gets 20% off. You also had to pay $117 registration fee (this was for both my children)

Right now they are going to a different church that charges $9 per day per child and hours are 8:30 am to Noon. I really like this place, but it is a very long drive, but the only place I could find to take them under 2. The new place is 2 mins from my house and will start taking children at 2.
