my DD was 6 lbs 15 oz, and DS was 7 lbs 3 oz.
any idea what my twins might weigh based on the singleton weights, or does it even matter?
    they are generally smaller, right?

i am 34 weeks tomorrow, and the twins weigh (based on u/sound) around 5 and a half pounds each. does this mean they could come within 2 weeks or so? in 2 more weeks, they would be 6 and a half pounds...

My twins were born at 37.5 and were 5.9 pounds and 3.15 pounds. My singleton was born at 38.6 weeks and was 6.9 pounds. So, she was bigger, but it wasn't a huge difference. I think my small baby had the beginnings of IUGR.

I think it's really hard to estimate since you don't know when the babies will be born.

That being said - my twins were both bigger than my singleton.

My singleton was born at 39wks 5 days and weight 6 lbs 12 oz.
My twins were born at 38 weeks exactly and weight 6lbs 14 oz and 7 lbs 3 oz.

Not sure but my singleton is a girl and my twins are boys - so that may be why they were a little bigger.

Its hard to say how big they will be since the ultrasound is not an exact measurement either and you have no idea when they will be born.

My older DD was 9 pounds on the nose.

The boys were born at 32 weeks so they were smaller than her. I think twins in general tend to be smaller than singletons because there are two of them and they usually come early. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

It is hard to tell- because twin pregnancies are just so different. And your ultrasound could be off a pound per baby either way- up or down. My last ultrasound was about 5 ozs off per baby.

DS was 8 lb 11 oz at 5 days shy of 40 weeks, and the girls were 6lbs 3 ozs and 6 lbs 8 ozs at 36 weeks 6 days.

My oldest was born at 37.5 weeks and was 6 lbs 8 ozs and my twins were 37 weeks and 6 lbs 3 ozs and 6 lb 10 ozs. Pretty similar.

    Ashley weighed 40 weeks 7lbs, 2 oz
    Kyle weighed 40weeks 7lbs, 4 oz
    Emily weighed 41 weeks 3 days 9lbs, 1 oz (10 days late)
My twins: 37 weeks 6 days
    Stefan weighed 7lbs, 10 oz
    Molly weighed 6lbs

I would say if you go basically full term, they will probably be comparable to your other children's birthweights.

My bigger twin weighed exactly what his older singleton sister did -- 6.13. However, the singleton was born at 41 wks, the twins at 38.4 wks. The smaller twin weighed in a 5.13.

    DD1 - 9 lbs. 7 oz. @ 40 wks
    DD2 - 6 lbs. 6 oz. @ 38 wks
    DD3 - 7 lbs. @ 38 wks
    DD4 - 5 lbs. @ 35 wks
    DD5 - 5 lbs. 8 oz. @ 35 wks

I think the twins could have gotten pretty big if they had stayed in a bit longer, but who knows. The reason DDs 2 & 3 were born at 38 weeks is because I refused to give birth to a giant baby again and my OB agreed with me.

singleton DD born at 38w3d: 5lb15oz
    twin A DS born at 35w: 5lb5oz
    twin B DS born at 35w: 4lb13oz

If I had carried the twins for 3 more weeks, they certainly would have outweighed my singleton. My OB was predicting 6 and 7 pounders, if I carried to term!

Well, my daughter was born 5 days arfter my due date, and was 10 lbs 4 ozs... The twins arrived at 7 lbs 10 ozs & 6 lbs 13 ozs...

I remember wanting to know how hard it is not knowing how big they will be and wanting to know... I know it is hard when you are dying to know, but try not to think too much about it... Also, remember that the ultra sound weights are only ESTIMATES... they can be +/- 5% which is a lot actually...

In terms of trying to guess when they will be born based on current estimated weight you really can't. Just hope they stay in as long as possible. The longer they cook the better!

My daughter was 8.5. The twins came at 38 weeks and weighed 6.13 and 6.7. They were pretty big for twins. No NICU time at all, though.
