    Hi, girls.
I know that I am not confirm for sure that I am having the twins and today I fall from my stair ( last 3 steps) so I am not surehow this will effect on my pregnancy I am having my u/s tomorrow.
    But I have a question.

How many lbs you gain during your twins pregnnacy. I am overweighted ( 255lb) and the more I think about how much to gain the more it made me scared.
might be you know the specific pregnancy diet?? with my first pregnancy I weghted only 200lbs and gain around 30lb. But I really cannto imaging how to handle even this 0 with my current weight.
Thank you. all reply is really appritiated.

Hi! I weighed 228lb when I found out I was having twins. I was very worried as well. It has been a problem of mine the whole time (body image) but I just think about making the babies healthy then I will worry about my weight after they are born. I have gained 34lbs so far which is less than average gain of my single babies! It has actually been harder for me to gain weight. The first 5 months I only gained 15 lbs. This was due to morning sickness, acid reflux (bad heartburn) and calories used up by the babies. Just watch your food intake. You need to be eating 600 more calories a day for the two of them. That really seems like a lot but it can be easy to do! Make sure you ask your doctor about how much you can gain and what foods to eat. They will be a better judge for you. They also have nutrition classes you can take given by a nutrionist. Good luck!

Im coming in right now between 20 and 25 lbs (water weight makes each day a little different). the doc said because I was a little over weight it was fine if I didn't gain any but diffenitly no loosing. he is also fine with what I have gained. my growth scans also show the babs coming in around the 60th percent so they are fine. I figure no matter what i do as long as their growth is good im happy.

    Hi!

I started off overweight, and I gained 33lbs. I wasn't trying to gain a certain amount...I just listened to my body and ate when I was hungry and stopped when I was full.

I just had the boys 15days ago and I'm only 2lbs heavier than my prepregnancy weight.

    Good luck to you!

I started at 225, lost 15 in the first trimester due to extreme morning sickness and I'm now at 242. You run out of room in the 3rd trimester. Seriously, my lunch came right back up today and all I ate was mashed potatoes. Just make sure and make it a point to ask your doc about your weight at each appt if it's something that's really important to you. Otherwise, they'll let you know if it's an issue.

I was even more overweight than you when I got pregnant with my twins.
I lost 16 pounds in the first trimester (morning sickness and the flu)
I ended up only 8 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight at delivery.
Two weeks after delivery, I was 57 pounds below my pre-pregnancy weight.

Weirdest weight trend ever for a pregnancy in my book, but my girls were healthy! (5lbs 12 oz and 6 lb 12 oz)

I was at 150 when I got pregnant with the twins, 202 the day I delivered - 176 when I left the hospital and 135 three weeks later. I had never lost that much weight after a pregnancy that easily I did nothing to diet. I think it was a combo of having 2 babies, no time and breastfeeding!

I was 195 when I got pregnant with the twins. I lost 33lbs the first trimster. I was slowly gaining weight up until the last tri, all together about 34 pounds. My Pre-e caused me to gain an HUGE amount of weight. The last time they weighed me, I was 268!

Now almost two weeks after the girls are born and Im at 205! And still sweating alot of water out! Though I started my pregnancy over weight, my DRs goal was for me to have a healthy twin pregnancy and not focus on the numbers on the scale!

I would talk with your doctor about the recommended weight gain, they should have some good advice for you.

I started at normal weight for my height, and the doctor wanted me to gain 35-45 pounds, I gained 42 pounds and delivered at 31 weeks.

I'm glad that you asked this question. I'm overweight too and so far have only gained 7 lbs at my last appointment. My OB was saying that I gained 2 1/2 lbs too much and I looked at her like she lost her mind. I thought I was doing really good considering that I'm pregnant with twins. With my singleton pregnancies I gained more than that in my first trimester. Dr's. I think I'm doing pretty good and I think you will too.

I cant believe she told you you were over by 2 1/2 lbs!!!! I can see if you were over by 10 lbs or something! Doctors suck!

My doctors were concerned at first that I'd gain too much because they naturally assumed I would since I was already overweight. (They also assumed I wouldn't control my blood sugar when I got GD! They admited that after I proved I would, and how they had misjudged) My diabetes doctor (due to GD) was the only one willing to target a weight gain said 20-25 pounds was expected for me to gain.

Interesting enough, they kept telling me to eat more. Only time in my life I've been told to eat more!

They did monitor my weight -- but they were more concerned about sudden increases indicating pre-e.

They assured me that the babies would not go hungry - they'll use stored nutrition. HOWEVER - they said that NEW nutrition is better than STORED nutrition ..so they didnt want them to use that. I had to monitor daily for ketones spilling. My goal was to not have ketones, rather than to gain or not gain weight.

I was over weight by 30lbs when I got pregnant. I gained 55lbs. And only lost 45lbs before I got pregnant again. Yikes I have a lot to lose when this pregnancy is over. And it never came off easy for me. We are all so different.

:aggressive: The WIC office here did that to me with my first pregnancy, but I was in the start of my second trimester and had gained 2 extra pounds over a months time. Red flags started jumping all over the screen, the tech freaked out, she ran out and got another tech and the nutritionist! Only 2 extra freakin pounds in one month in the last tri!!! I was miffed! Within a week or so after having Ella I was back to my pre weight. i just don't know what the heck was the problem.

I started off this pregnancy at 160 lbs. Since I found out I have gallstones and had to eat reasonably, my weight has been hanging around 210. I love my dr. He isn't concerned about weight gain. He just thinks part of it is genetics and some women just gain more then others. My problem was I kept eating to stay awake at work the first 3 months! I am just happy that I am about 20 lighter then when I delivered my DS.

With the twins I started off at 240.. I lost 20lbs due to morning sickness. I gained back the 20 I lost plus another 20 putting me at 280 when they were born. But the time I left the hospital 48 hours later I had already lost the 20 that i had gained so I was back at 240.

with this pregnancy I started off at 289..( not a proud moment I tell you) I lost 25lbs total due to morning sickness and at almost 34 weeks I still have not gained all of it back yet. I think last weigh in 2 weeks ago I was at 279.

I was VERY concerned this time around that I was going to be over 300lbs but so far thats not been a problem. I have not been lectured about my weight loss but I was not trying to lose either just lost b/c I was sick ALL THE TIME. But on a side note even with the weight loss the twins were not effected by it at all and Im assuming the same for this little one.

I started the pregnancy at 154, when I was weighed at 8 weeks. I assume I didn't gain that much weight the first few weeks. I don't have a scale at home, so I can't say for sure. At my last regular OB appointment I was 162 at 19 weeks. Before I got married a little over 2 years ago I was 20 lbs or so heavier, which I am sure was overweight. I lost most of that weight before my wedding, so I didn't look like a fatty in my dress, and got back to the weight I was when I graduted college. Before I was pregnant I usually fell somewhere between 150-155lbs. My doctor is thrilled with my weight gain so far and my babies are doing great. In the end, that is all I really care about.

Wow, I can't believe how some of the doctors are telling you to gain so little. Before I got pregnant with my twins, I was on the small side and they told me to gain 60-80 pounds. I only gained 40 and I was lectured all the time for it. I have a horrible time gaining weight when I am pregnant, but as soon as those babies come out, I lose that wonderful ability. Nursing the twins, I actually stayed heavier than I have ever been but have lost all of the weight and then some. I wouldn't focus on the scale, just make sure your babies are growing. I wish I had been better with taking in more protein, that seems to add weight to babies really great.

    Good luck!

I have gained 35 lbs and am almost 37 weeks.
I gained 40 with my dd and went to 39 weeks-she was 8lbs 5oz-I lost most of the weight with her immediately-maybe weighed 5 lbs more after.

I know both my babies are over 6 lbs and I still have good fluid for both-plus swollen calves, ankes and feet. Hopefully the weight will come off. We'll see!

I took "eating for 3" literally and truly should've moved into the McDonald's parking lot.. would've been easier.

I started IVF at 135 lbs, 144 when i got my positive beta, day I delivered via elective c section.. I was 226 lbs! Incredible. I never let them tell me how much I weighed until AFTER I had them and had lost 50 of it!! Scary numbers for me.

So, I guess I gained 95 lbs and I had them at 35 weeks. I knew I was getting huge but I also had two six pounders at 5 weeks early so I was thrilled :)

I think if my Peri would have told me I was fat or something similar, I would've walked out the door. I don't want to hear that when I'm pregnant as long as I'm healthy! (And carrying TWINS!)

I weighed about 15 lbs over what would be a "healthy" weight when I got pregnant. I ended up gaining 62 lbs. My babies are 3 weeks now and I've lost just over 40 so far. I just tried to think about the babies and worry about weight later....trying to remind myself now that it will take time ;) Just do your best to eat healthy and drink plenty of water.
