How many weeks were you when you delivered?

I only have the twin pregnancy to compare to and they were born at 34w6d. Each and every day I wake up and wonder will today be the day? I am sick and have been coughing like crazy and my hyperemesis has returned and I have been vomiting like crazy I was sure that would at the very least cause a B/H contrax. but nothing. Which is very good considering I will only be 36 weeks on Friday.

I have an appt on Friday and I will have my first internal exam so we will find out then if anything is happening. I'm also supposed to have one more U/S this pregnancy so I'm going to make sure I ask so they dont forget about it.

I dont want an early baby so he has to spend time in special care. Been there done that with the boys and I NEVER want to do that again.

I know its possible for a full term baby to need to go to special care but Im wondering at what point my boy could come and not need time in special care?

I am just ready to meet my little man but know he probably needs more time.

 

My twins were born at 37wk5d. No special care nursery or anything. They came home with us. Evan was born at 40wk1d. Home 3 hours later. Good luck! You probably have a great chance of no special care after your 36 wk appt. Good luck! Aim for 40!!!

 

daughter first at 36 weeks....perfectly healthy...no nicu and then the twins were born at 37 weeks where Parker had absolutely no nicu time either. Good both times since i had an emergency csection each time....they usually say there is a higher chance for breathing issues with csections. But then again i know someone who had two babies, different pregnancies, both came full term, natural labor, and they both needed nicu time for breathing issues. Her 3 other children didn't have any issues when they were born so every situation is different. I'm sure it depends on many factors, but the chance of nicu lowers immensely after 36 weeks.

41w1d, 42w (had my water broken to induce labor because it never happened on it's own) & 40w6d for my oldest three. Twins induced (after 9 weeks bedrest for PTL) at 37w5d. I bake them long.

 

all 3 of my singletons were 40+ weeks - twins were 38 weeks 4 days by scheduled c-section - Ava spent several hours in the special care nursery because of breathing trouble because of being a c-section baby but both came home with me at 2 days old!!

I can't believe you are 36 weeks already!!! WOW!!! time has flown!! (probably not to you though!!) it won't be too much longer now!!!!!

 

My twins were 34w1d due to PTL.

Olivia was 38.5 weeks due to my water breaking. I know what you mean about being anxious. It's not liek you want them to come early, but you are so done and so ready to meet the baby! But, after having a short pregnancy the first time around, it seems like you want to be done even sooner b/c it's weird being pregnant so long...lol!

 

My twins were induced at 37w0d after being on bedrest from 29-34wks for PTL. Once I hit 34wks I was allowed to get up and they could come but needless to say after 3 weeks I evicted them. No special care time for us, we went home within 48 hours.

 

I had emergency C/S with my twins @ 35w 4days, pre_e and TTTS. Scheduled C/S with Mikiah at 39 weeks. I was so ready to be done being pregnant at 36 weeks too with Mikiah but new she needed to cook a little longer. Now she is 6 months and I miss being pregnant. Its so Ironic lol
