Whenever I think about going due to bleeding, cramping...I always feel bad. SO I thought I would see how many of us can share how many time we have been and why...

    I'll go..
Trip 1 at 14 weeks... needed fluids as I had been vomitting ALL day.
Trip 2 at 21 weeks... out of town had bleeding.. no asnswers
Trip 3 at 25 weeks.... cramping and fever....no answers.

I am sure there will be more. Wont it be a Relief when we get to hold these babies...SIGH..

I have been there twice in the past 2 1/2 weeks. Once for decreased movement and yesterday for cramping, contractions every15-20 mins. Both turned out to be nothing. This last time my dr made me feel stupid for calling. There are 10 dr in the practice and I have had nothing but bad experience with him. I really hope he is not on call when I really go into labor.

unless you count going in for my 3 hour glucose test and today for an NST, have to go to the hospital because my doc isn't set up for twins in his office [IMG] Oh well. We live in a SMALL town and the hospital is actually two seconds closer than the doctor!

    I've been twice recently.

Week 29- decreased fetal movement, baby b changed positions so everything was good.

Week 30- blurry vision and fear of pre-clampsia. Everything turned out fine as well.

With my dd, I never went. This just goes to show how much more complex a twin pregnancy can be.

Once, so far, at about 12 weeks for dehydration due to vomiting.

I probably should have gone in the last few days due to reduced movement, but i'm far from home and haven't wanted to deal w/ a strange hospital...hope i don't regret that!

As for your doc making you feel bad - he is obviously a jerk, and you should choose not to feel bad: better to listen to your body and be safe rather than sorry!

I never went with DS and I haven't been yet with this pregnancy (33.5 weeks). I'm one of these folks who hates going in if I think I can at all manage at home because I feel being stuck in a hospital would probably make me worse and rest usually helps me out if I'm contracting or in pain. I'd totally go if I felt I was having real problems, though. I've just been really lucky both times.

I have been 3 times. Once for spotting and 2 times for cramping and a sore back. EVERYTHING scares me so im sure I'll be there a few more times! With my DD the first time I ever went I just went becuse I had a extreamly sore back I wanst cramping or anything. Other then my back I felt great so when I got there and I was 3 cm and ready to have a baby I was a little suprised. So now I freak out about everything. I've been having lots of contractions so I'll stay up all night worrying wondering if I should go to L&D. DH tells me to go back to bed and I remind him THATS WHAT YOU SAID LAST TIME THEN WE HAD OUR BABY!!!!!!!!!

I think I ended up going into L/D 6 times between week 28-34. Twice, I stayed overnight. Reasons included, PTL, UTI(twice), high blood pressure, decel in baby B on a BPP. I don't envy you guys, that stretch of time is rough. [IMG]

Trip 3: 31 weeks: Dr sent me as I was 3 cm, stayed overnight
Trip 4: 33 weeks, Dr sent me as I was 4 cm, stayed an entire week
Trip 5: 34 weeks, I had the babies via c/s I was 5 cm dilated

4 times...all for PTL issues. 2 out of the 4 times I ended up being admitted.

That was something I had not expected, having to go to L&D all the time. I think all twin moms-to-be should realize it is more normal than abnormal to have a few visits ahead of time!

I didn't have to go until the end with the twins. I was just over 37 weeks and ended up delivering that day.

With this pregnancy, I went last Friday when I fell on my belly.

    I've made 3 trips.
trip 1 -at 26 weeks for preterm labor. I was having contractions so they gave me some shots and sent me home on procardia and bedrest

trip 2 - a follow up to trip number one to get my 2nd steriod shot

trip 3 - for reduced movement. wouldn't you know it they started moving the minute I got the hospitol.

    I've been twice this pregnancy.

At 19 wks - PTL and spotting. The babies checked out fine and then I got put on weekly progesterone shots to control my irritable uterus.

At 32 weeks - Signs of pre-e. Again, the babies checked out fine and so did my BP and protein.

Both times, everyone was very nice, the beds were super comfy and I was only there about an hour or so.

I only went once, but I can't remember when it was. I think around 7 or 8 months. I had tons of braxton hicks/contractions. Turned out I was just very dehydrated. Enough that they almost put an IV in, but I guzzled down water as fast as I could so they wouldn't.

Of course, that's not counting all the NST & glucose tests. I lost track of how many times I was in for that!

NEVER feel bad about going in. These are your babies and you're just taking good care of them already!

I didn't have any trips besides actual labor & delivery with my dd & so far (knock on wood) I haven't had any yet to the hospital with the twins.

I go to my Dr's office rather than the hospital for some of the same reasons some of you went to L& D for.

My only hospital L&D visit was for my cerclage surgery. (so far, touch wood).

Thanks for posting, because I never know when to call my dr or go to L&D. I am still waiting for the Aetna nurse to explain PTL symptoms to me because this is the first time I've been preganant and I don't know what to look for. So far I went once, at 23 weeks, when I called my OB/GYN to figure out what kind of discharge was normal (it had changed color), the covering doctor sent me to L&D just to make sure, and the L&D doctors said it was safer to come in, did all sorts of tests, and told me it was just normal discaharge. Then they told me the symptoms I should look for (LOTS of fluid, REALLY PAINFUL cramps, or blood).

When you say "no answers," what do you mean? That everything was normal or that the doctors didn't answer your questions clearly?

    So far just...

9 weeks, needed fluids because of excessive vomitting

28 weeks for threatened PTL - stayed overnight with regular contrax, stopped them with terbutaline and am now being monitored from home and am taking magnesium.

1.)ER at 8 weeks- for spotting
2.) profuse vaginal bleeding 10 weeks- subchorionic bleed
3.)Right upper qudrant pain 20 weeks- chondritis
4.)PTL 26 weeks- cervix measured 1 cm, steroids and terbutaline given, trendelenburg position x2 days(symptom vaginal pressure)
PTL was the scariest time. Now I'm home on modified bedrest with my cervix measuring 3.0. Miracle. Anyway, it's been a long road and I'm looking forward to making it to 34 plus weeks.
Melanie- 29 weeks with b/g twins

  24. Hi all:
I actually just got back L&D at 12:45 a.m. This is my third trip.

1st: 9 weeks spotting: Resulted Bacterial Vaganosis
2nd: 19 weeks: Tightening (Braxon Hicks) and BV again: Irritable uterus.
3rd: almost 21 weeks: Tightening and BV again
Very frustrating because it doesn't seem like anything is clearing up the BV infection so they are putting me on antibiotics longer. They think that is what contributing to the irritable uterus. We'll see....

I went at 5 weeks for kidney stones. I went at about 13 weeks due to a cyst rupturing. I have been twice for decreased fetal movement (now I have 2 NST a week). Then I was sent over for having contractions 3 minutes apart, but after 3 shots of terbutaline they were 45 minutes apart and I was sent home with a prescription of terbutaline and bed rest. I get to stop taking the terb next week [IMG]

Id have to say at least 10 times. Once was for bleeding around 14 weeks. After about 20 weeks I ended up there several times for decreased movement, swelling, headaches, high bp and all the other lovely preeclampsia symstoms. Ended up hospitalized at 29 weeks when Madison didnt pass her BPP, thought for sure we were having babies that day but held off in the hospital for a few more weeks

Oh my! I don't know if I can even remember all of them. I know half the nurses on a first-name basis! lol But part of that is cause I'm scheduled to be there once a week for an NST.

    Let's see....

    19 weeks - contractions/terb shots
    23 weeks - contrations/terb shots
24 weeks - 3 day stay for contractions that wouldn't stop

every week since 27 I go for NSTs...

yeah, I'm there all the time! lol

I went at 20weeks for cramping and tightening which was chalked up to stress and not enough fluids
Then 30 weeks for abnormal discharge (TMI 2x about the size of a quarter with pink tinges, I thought maybe mucus plug) but nothing was wrong and didn't have anymore after.

Luckily I live 2 blocks from both my Dr and the hospital and hopefully I won't go to L&D again until it is time to give birth!
