How many times does a 1 year old have to hit their head before they learn?

It is one of those mornings! Lily was up all night fussing (off and on) and they both woke up in bad moods! They have colds. So they've only been up for about an hour and they're already driving me crazy! I'm on the couch, with my laptop on my lap. Lily wants on the couch. She grabs the couch, turns her head and hits it on the laptop. Not very hard, she could keep on going and she'd make it up, but when her head touches the laptop she stops trying, puts both feet back on the floor, and rubs her head. Then she does the exact same thing again. And again. And again. And then whines b/c she wants me to pull her up but I refuse b/c I know she can do it on her own.

How many times do you think this will go on before she'll scoot herself over an inch so her head isn't so close to the laptop? Or maybe the whining will get to me first and I'll feel sorry for her and pull her up...

Our laptop sits on a desk in our living room. We have a folding chair that we sit on in front of it.

The boys CONSTANTLY want to sit on our lap, climb up on the desk, or just, in general, be by us if we're sitting at the chair (even if we aren't on the computer).

However, the desk has been here for months & you'd THINK they'd remember that, but NOOOOO...I cannot tell you how many times a day they bonk their head either standing up underneath it or catching the corner of it while maneuvering around. We've actually almost started saying "STOP THAT" when they hit their head because they KNOW it's there! Ugh! I'm almost worried that they haven't 'caught on' since they've done it SO MANY times (that being said, I did notice Aiden slowly rise underneath it yesterday to a squat position & FINALLY not hit his head)!!!!!

If I hear "Owwie head" one more time because of this desk...I swear.......

I wish I knew. DH and I joke all the time that we are glad Ana seems smart because she must be losing many brain cells a day by bumping her head on things. At least she has some to spare.

If I were keeping count, I'd say 83 and counting. I'll let you know when they learn!
