My girls are almost 6 mo. and I am just wondering how much your 6 mo. olds are eating. My girls eat around 4 bottles (with rice cereal) a day sometimes 5 and are on babyfood 1 time a day. They usually get about 2 oz. each of babyfood. Just curious as to how this compares with others. Also, they will be starting food 2 times a day in a week per our pedi.

    Thanks so much!

    Hey you!!

At 6 months mine were doing 5 bottles a day still (6am 9am 12pm 3pm 6pm) and were eating rice cereal (not in their bottles though) 2x a day.
In the morning I would mix in bananas to their cereal & in the afternoon just plain cereal, a veggie and a fruit (for dessert! yum!).

My girls are still not willing to let go of a bottle feeding yet...so we are STILL doing 5 day, but they are eating like champs!

Hi my babies are a little over five months and the are doing between 4-5 sometimes six (six ounce bottles a day) as well as cereal after thier morning bottle and 2 oz of fruit or a veggie for lunch and dinner. My ped. said to start the solids and do them whenever i want, also let them eat as much as they want....He said they are more to teach them how to eat right now then actually for nutrition .....I have been following this giving them cereal after first bottle lunch after second and dinner after third or forth...He says to give them the bottle first to make sure they get the nutrition they need. I usually wait like a half hour after they finish thier bottle! Hope i could help

I am bfing, so they feed 7x/day (which includes one ff for a dreamfeed, and one feed at night). they eat veggie solids for lunch - so just one meal/day right now. Will probably increase that to 2 meals/day in about 2weeks.

Mine are nearly 6 months adjusted. We have been doing 5 bottles a day (6-8 oz.) and one solid feeding of about 2 T. cereal (measured dry) and one cube (about 1 oz.) fruit or veggie. I noticed I was having to wake them from naps a lot to give a bottle, so for the last two days we've dropped down to four bottles and it seems to be working o.k.

At 6 months we were doing 5-6 bottles a day and solids one time a day in the evening. They were probably splitting 2 stage 2's mixed with cereal.

At 6 months we were still doing 5 bottles a day and one 'meal' which was usually a little cereal and half a stage 1 container of baby food (so not much solids at all!). FWIW, we started solids at 5 1/2 month.

Mine are 6 months and ~ 3weeks. They are having 4 bottles a day (usually 8 oz formula, but for the last one they sometimes take just 3 oz). They started solids at 6 months. Once we started solids, it was as if I had opened a Pandora box, they just LOVE solid food. Here is the feeding schedule for each of them. I feel like they are eating a lot compared to what I've just read! But they are hungry otherwise  The thing is at their 6 month visit, they were 20 and 18lbs 14 oz. DS 1 is in the 90th percentile in weight and 75th percentile in height and DS2 is in the 75th percentile in weight and 50th percentile in height. So maybe it explains why they eat that much... Or they simply took their dad's appetite

    - morning
    6-8 oz formula
    ~6 tablespoons of cereal

    - mid-morning
1 pack stage 1 gerber fruit

    - lunch
    6-8 oz formula
1 pack of stage 1 veggies
1 pack of stage 1 fruit if they are still hungry

    - mid-afternoon
    6-8 oz formula

    - evening
1 pack of stage 1 veggies
    3 tablespoons of cereal
    most often 3-6 oz formula

M and O take 5 bottles a day - 7,10,2,5, and 7. Right now we still just do solids when we "get around to it". I'm trying to feed them at least once a day - but would really like to have 2 times a day when they are eating cereal and a fruit.

Oh - Molly eats 6oz and Owen eats 7oz at each feeding.

We are in the middle of a transition from 5 7 oz. bottles a day plus one solids meal to 4 8 oz. bottles a day plus 2 solids meals. They were really showing signs of wanting to go longer between bottles, and with napping improving we needed them to, so I think the new schedule is going to work well for us. Sounds like we are on a similar path to you. We just started the 2 solids meals a day at 6 months per our pedi. They eat roughly the size of a stage 1 container - a little less - not sure how many ounce that is. DD and DS eat the same number of ounces usually even though DS is 2 1/2 pounds bigger. DD is a wiggler - I think she burns it off!
