How many sippy cups do you have?

It took us a while to find sippy cups that the girls would use. We finally found them and I have two for each girl. It seems like I'm always washing them right before they need to use them. How many sippy cups do you have? I don't mean how many are in the sippy cup graveyard (the ones in the cupboard they didn't like, or you don't like, or whatever). I mean ones that you actually use. I think I need to get a few more so they can have one for water and one for milk and still have one or two that can be in the dishwasher.

The ones we found that we really like are the Playtex First Sipsters. They say they are level 1. Am I crazy to buy more? Will we be moving up to level 2 soon? It seems to me that these cups should work just fine for quite a while.

Lol, when I first saw your topic I was thinking... "I really don't know how many are in the cabinent..." As far as the ones we actually use, 6. 3 for each girl. We only had 4 but ended up with 2 more one day when DH took the girls to daycare and forgot the cups... lol. I feel like we are constantly washing ours too... I don't know about levels. Ours have soft spouts and I'm going to start introducing the other cups we have soon so if they will use those (they have harder spouts.)

We have two for each one. I'm going to be introducing a third soon (the one with the straws). Right now we use the Nuby ones and also Playtex insulated ones and they do well with both of them.
Forgot to add: I do believe both of the cups we use are level 1. Not sure if the one with the straws is or not.

I am kind of ashamed to say that I think we have about 12 cups total. Even so, I can barely keep track of them. There are usually 2 in the car or diaper bag, 2 in their bed from night time, 1 in Jacob's PNP for naptime, 2 in their hands, a couple in the dishwasher... and if we're lucky, a couple in the cabinet... My boys drink water ALL day long, and also get juice or rice milk sometimes, so we definitely get a lot of use from all of them. We use a couple of different styles of Sesame Street character cups. I don't remember the brand off-hand.

I have at least 10 sippy cups. I think the Playtex ones are my girls favorite too. I started out with only the Level 1's but now my girls will drink from any cup at any level but the level 1's are still their favorite. I'd buy some more, I don't think it really matters which level they drink from. You might want to get a variety though just so they get used to drinking from different styles of cups.

We use a bunch of different kinds right now. The main ones are 6 soft spout nubys used only at bedtime now and 6 Gerber ones for daytime. We have others in the cabinet and take and toss ones that I resort too when there aren't any clean.

I keep hoping I can get them to drink out of the First Years ones with no valve. When they will, I'll get a bunch of those and donate the rest.

Ashamed of 12???? Just for that...I'm going to go and count mine... Trust me-it will make you feel A LOT better!

    Ya ready for this one??????

    TWENTY-FIVE!!!!!!!!!! :rotflmbo: :unknw: :shok:

Oh wait...let me check the dishwasher...

    Add 10 more....

A grand total of......... THIRTY-FIVE sippy cups!

And that does not count the other 6 that they are not fans of....

FWIW-they are the Take-N-Toss kind. DH and I went out and bought a package...or even two. And for some ODD reason, when he went to the grocery store-he bought ANOTHER pkg! HUH??? He buys NOTHING for the boys and always says that I need to stop buying things when they don't need them. HUH???? By that point, we already had AT LEAST 20 sippy cups!

So-it's nice because I always have a great amount of sippy cups on hand! And there are the 4oz sippy cups that I also use as snack cups, so...it's got dual purposes.

Thanks for this post-I've gotten a good chuckle out of counting the sippy cups! :D

We have 6 or 8 that we use regularly. I tend to only use the Take and Toss for water these days because DS figured out really fast how to pry the lids of with his teeth.
We use three a day for meals that I put milk in and I like to have two days worth of cups on hand. The 6-8 does not include the water Take and Toss cups.

Sippy cup graveyard -- LOL!! That's the perfect name for it, because we have a HUGE bin of cups that didn't work, or the parts wore out, or whatever -- of course, most of them are from when Nadia was little (and she was a royal PITA when it came to drinking from sippies). I really need to get rid of them at some point.

Anyhow, with K&K, I was determined that they would drink from Playtex straw cups, and nothing else. We have six of the regular Playtex straw cups for milk (total, so three each), and six of the insulated Playtex straw cups for water/juice. I've ordered replacement straws for them, because they tend to get chewed up.

We have four right now, thinking of picking up two more. They use Nuby ones, that have handles and the tops are soft. They love em. I want a set to keep in the car or something for when I forget to throw two in my purse for a quick trip out.

We have eight and four of them they do not like to drink from. They like the Gerber Graduates with handles.
So, two are for milk only and the other two I put juice & water only in.

I have a lot. Probably 30+. And they drink out of all of them.

I have at least 12 (4 packs of 3) munchkin straw cups, we do water/juice out of those. 3 playtex straw cups (too expensive and they leak, hence the munchkins), probably 20 or 22 playtex regular and insulated cups with the valves, a few Avent bottles with the cup attachments, maybe 4? Plus the take and toss which stay in the diaper bags for when we forget sippies.

We have a red bowl in one side of the sink filled with soapy water. When the kids are done drinking, (next round of drinks really) we disassemble the cups, put the small pieces in the bowl (valves and tops) and put the cups in the dishwasher. Yes, they completely fill the top rack of the dishwasher.

Good idea - I wish I could think of these things :). Now if I can just remember to put them in there tonight.

We have so many sippies in the graveyard - RIP! I actually found the Take N' Toss ones to be their favorite (after I dropped so much money on so many varieties, go figure the ones they love are the cheapest ones!). We have 4 of the 10oz cups, & 2 of the 7oz cups (that I use for juice/water). Angelo can drink out of a straw.. he actually learned to do it by blowing and sucking a kazoo! I keep any extras in the car and diaper bag in case we're out and about and forgot to bring some and sometimes one ends up in my purse!

We have 12 sets of two - so 24 sippy cups. Their/our favorites are the Nuby sport sipsters. They have like a straw top, but you tip them up to drink out of them. We were having a LOT of frustration with straw cups because they were trying to tip them, so I thought this was a good compromise. It's got like a 2 inch straw on top that they sip out of, so hopefully we are getting some benefits of straw cups. Then we have a couple playtex stage 1s, a couple playtex stage 2s, a couple gerber stage 1s, two sets of Nuby straw cups (oh - make that 3, for a total of 26 sippy cups), and then some cheepo Cleveland brown sippies. We will probably transition some out as they get older. They use the disposable First Years cups at daycare and do great.

wow, i'm amazed at how many have just a few per kid!!

we have the 4 of the first sipsters, which they use regularly for juice all day. (actually it's about 1 oz of juice and 5 of water) then we have 2 nuby straw cups which we use when out and about. and we have 8 of the nuby soft spout cups that they use for milk or for smoothies. i want to switch them from the first sipsters since they really don't need the handles anymore, and they love the regular playtex cups my mom has at her house, so i know they'll do well, but i can't justify throwing them out and buying new ones just because. so when they get icky or cracked or something, i'll toss those and get new ones....

of course in a pinch (i.e. sipsters are dirty) they'll use the nubys for juice no problem. but that's how we started and that's how it's stayed....

We have 8 in total; 6 First Years with no valves, and 2 Gerber with valves. I only actually have 4 first years here, the other 2 are at Gramma's house. We usually have 2 in the playroom with us, and the rest are in the dishwasher or the cupboard. When we go out, I pack two in the diaper bag. For us, it drives me crazy to have tons of stuff. I'd rather wash them then have lots lying around.

8 that we use every day. They get drinks 4 x a day. There are 2 of them. Ergo 8. :) I refuse to wash them more than once a day. The graveyard is huge, and hopefully some day we can use some of those, too. Maybe even enough that I can put them all in the dishwasher and only have to run it once a week! Such big pipe dreams. :)

We have problems with milk in any sort of soft spout. They know how to "spill" the milk out of them onto their tray/floor/etc. I have stopped using any soft spout for milk and stopped using nuby altogether. We really like the playtex with the valves and have four with hard spouts that I use daily. I need to get rid of the nubys and the soft spout playtex I use for juice and they work well, except they've started chewing the spouts apart.

Am I the only one with LOs so destructive???

We have some of the straw cups that we use at meals when they are monitored (open cup) and then a couple with lids that are straws, but again, they know how to make them "spill".

We probably have about 6 that they use but I buy the take and toss cups with the straws that they will drink out of and they are only about $4 for a five pack of them.
