The babies go next week for their 9 month appointment. Can you tell me how many shots they get? I heard also they draw blood but I'm not letting them do that if it's true. There is no need for that in my opinion. Thanks!

My girls are going for their 9 month appointment this morning. At my pedi there are no shots or blood drawing or anything at the 9 month appointment. That's why if you want the pedi to pierce their ears she does it at 9 months, because there are no shots or needles.

Zip, zero, and zilch for us too!! Just height and weight and concerns, if any.

No nine month shots either. We actually just got our six month shots yesterday...then in Sept. they will get their 12 month shots. I have never heard of pedi's drawing blood at a check-up though, unless there is a reason to.

No shots at our nine month appointment, put they did prick their finger to get a blood sample so that they could test for anemia.

I just called my ped office and they give 1 shot, Hep B. I was just looking at the schedule online and I just can't believe how many they get now. I was comparing it to something I saw online in 1974 and this was all. I was born in 1976 but I'm sure it was the same for me. Why so much now???

2 months: DTP, TOPV (trivalent oral polio virus)
    4 months: DTP, TOPV
    6 months: DTP, TOPV
    1 year: Measles, TB test
    1-12 years: Rubella, Mumps
    1 1/2 years: DTP, TOPV
    4-6 years: DTP, TOPV

I think it varies from state to state. My boys will get a finger stick (or heel, if I can convince them) to check for anemia.

At our 9 month appointment there were no shots, just a blood draw.

Our ped told us at our 6mo visit there were no shots scheduled-it will be flu season for the 9mo visit so we may have to do the flu shot at that time but that is it.

They did that today for mine. The girls didn't even notice, I just distracted them.
