My boys are ID. We had a shocking u/s at 7 weeks (at 5w3d we saw one sac, one yolk sac) when we found two babies in that sac.... although i've got to say-- to me they don't look ID (probibliy b/c my Jack is over a pound heavier then his brother)

Lots of ID twin parents think their twins don't look all that identical. We thought ours were fraternal at first but a DNA test at 15 months confirmed my suspicions. Here's a recent photo and an older one. Mine have a difference in head shape that makes it easy for those closest to them to tell them apart. They have always been the same size but the rounder head made Trent's face look fuller.

id girls in the same sac with ttts so we know they are identical. Only a lb different at birth but 3 lbs difference since about 2 months. While one is bigger their features are exactly the same.

I think that roughly 1/3 of twins are ID. Congrats and welcome to FY and TS!

I know that mine are identical cuz they also shared a sac and placenta. We knew from 7 weeks on and I think you are correct that a little less than 1/3 are identical (less w/ the increase in fertility treatments of course..)

I just really want to see pics of OTHER peoples ID's cuz it's soo interesting to me! Mine do look a LOT a like in pics I guess but not soo much in person (To me atleast- MANY MANY people can't tell them apart.)

POST YOUR PICS!! Love looking at them!! Oh and to the PP with the ID's with the cowboy hats!!!!!!!! OMG, that is soooooo CUTE!!!! LOVE IT! Cute kids!

Here they are just after they were born Just born

Here's a pic from when they were little (about a month old) Month old

Here they are at two months Two months

Here are two resent pics Boys with their uncle and boys in crib

Jack has always had a different shape head -- rounder then tom's -- and with the extra weight - I think it makes them look very different

We have identical girls. We were told id through the pregnancy and then I had them and they said 2 sacs & 2 placentas so we had them tested and it came back identical. And welcome to twinstuff.

Mine are also natural ID. They were in two amniotic sacs, but one placenta. We were also told thru the pregnancy that they were ID b/c of the sacs/placenta & then it was confirmed with delivery. I haven't had the test done yet, but plan on doing so after their 12 month checkup next month. CONGRATS!!!

I also do not think my girls really look alike! They have been 2 lbs difference since birth & I think it makes a huge differnce. But then there are times, when I'm like WOW!

I think mine are id although I haven't had them tested. They were 2 sacs, 2 placentas. However, they both have blue eyes, auburn hair and same blood type. They were almost 2 lbs/2 in different at birth, now they are less than 1/2 lb and 1/4 in. One twin has a lot more hair and her face is rounder - really the only way to tell them apart.

ID girls here, although we were told throughout the pregnancy that they were frateral. We had the DNA test done because they have the same rare blood type.

I need to upload pics from my camera, I don't have any really recent ones online...

ID boys here. They had 1 placenta and 2 sacs. Their faces are shaped different (Jackson's is longer while Anthony's is more round) and Jackson has always been 4 or 5 oz heavier.

We don't know yet. My pediatrician, OB, and family doc all think they are identical- and me and their daddy have trouble telling them apart, so we will be testing in a month or two- waiting on the tax check. They did test placentas, and they are definitly di/di, but they said there is still a chance they are identical :)

Man oh Man, I'd have to say those are ID's myself!! They are sooo darn cute!! Love it!!

People-- I am really enjoying seeing your kids!! They are all soooo pretty and handsome!!! Funny that we all think our kids look different f/ each other!! Mine is the face shape and weight issue also :) When I was pg I was soooo worried we'd mix them up!! Now that they're here I can tell them apart 99 times out of 100.

I think yours are ID. I always was fighting people since the beginning. My mom, the doctor, my best friend...all said the girls were frat. I had them tested because I thought they were ID...and I was right

Mine girls are identical - they were momo twins (shared a sac so I know 100% they were identical) Although, Paige is 4 lbs bigger than her sister. I don't think they look alike but most people can't tell them apart.

I don't know how to post pictures - hope this works

I can tell yours apart in this picture due to the weight difference- it is apparent in their faces!! Sooo darn cute!! :)

I have identical girls....I can easily tell them apart though, as long as they don't have on hats. (Amelia has a big patch of dark hair on the back of her head that hasn't grown in on Lily's head yet) DH and I sometimes wonder if they really are ID, until someone new comes over, because we're the only ones that think they look nothing alike!

oh and mine are spontaneous and were di/di, didn't share anything! It's crazy how everyone in the general population assumes that if your twins don't share anything they are frat. It seems like I am constantly correcting people who either insist that my girls shared something or that they must be frat because they didn't!

My boys are identical- we knew right away because at 6 weeks they were sharing a placenta. I don't think they look that much alike, though everyone says they do. They also have a weight difference- Van was 5lbs1oz and Finn was 6lbs3oz at birth. I'm also an identical twin and my twin had id twins last summer. Her girls had their own placentas but the same blood type. We all thought they were id because they're so hard to tell apart. She had a DNA test to confirm...
