    Girls.
I rented the dopler with my son pregnancy to make me calm and I listen the hb once a week. if I was nervous because of something twice a week.
I was planing to rent a dopler with this pregnancy but I am not sure how hard to find both babies hb and might be my OB right I will get a lot of u/s so I don't need it?
    Please advise.

My OB had a lot of trouble finding both heartbeats until I was at least 12 weeks; I would up having a few unscheduled u/s just to make sure they were both OK. And even after that, it can be tricky to know which is which and to be sure you're getting two different babies rather than the same one twice. I'd say it might make things more stressful for you, rather than less.

I had an u/s about every 2 weeks from 6 to 12 weeks, then another one at 20, and then every other week or so starting at 30 weeks. So the only long stretch without one was from 20 to 30 weeks. I didn't feel much movement until about 24 weeks, but Ii wasn't really nervous during that part of my pg anyway. (Or rather, I was nervous about going into labor, but not about whether the babies were OK.)

I didn't rent a doppler and my OB never used one because she said it was hard to get both babies and there was no way to know for sure you were actually getting different babies HR. I had an u/s at every appointment, so that gave me a lot of piece of mind.

    Thank you girls,
this is what I thought that I never know if I pick up hb of the same baby twice or it was different one.
and my Re didn't offer u/s at everyvisit but I insist so I iwll see him for now once in 2 week just for quick u/s. so I going to the office next monday for quick u/s ( but his machine isn't great. at least we only can see the hb at 8w4d. might be it would be better at 10w.

I rented a doppler from the time I was 16w until ... maybe a month ago, I sent it back, because I was feeling the boys move a lot and wasn't really using it anymore. I did find it helpful. I got the cheapest, basic model for $24/month as a month-to-month rental from www.babybeat.com. It was helpful for me--great for peace of mind--though it can be a little tricky to make sure you're hearing two different heartbeats. But my boys were usually a good 8-10 bpm apart, so as long as you timed them carefully you could usually figure out who was who.

You can also rent one for a little bit more money that has a digital readout. That makes it much easier to ensure you're hearing two differnet HBs, because you don't have to second-guess whether your counting was off or whatever. If you think it would help with peace of mind, I'd say it's worth it. And your OB can't "not allow" it even though s/he may discourage it; it's your decision. do what you feel comfortable with.

Thank you. because I was planing to rent the digital one with hb counting. ( again before we figured out that we have twins)
with first pregnancy I found the hb at 12 weeks and was planing to rent the dopler at the same time after the NT scan because usually after NT scan the next u/s is 20week.
Thank you again. I will think more it's still earlier to rent it before 12 weeks I think.

I didn't rent a doppler with either of my pregnancies. With the twins my OB did an u/s at every visit to hear the hb's.

I bought one this time. I had rented one with my dd and decided to buy one of of ebay after my 1st m/c. It arrived the day after I found out about my second m/c. I bought one with the bpm listed on it, and in turn I know I'll be able to sell it easily and make most of my money back.

I started finding one heartbeat at about 9 wks, but I tell ya, I had to about stand on my head to do it! By about 12 wks I was getting one beat for sure and occasionally I thought I'd catch 2. It wasn't long after that tho I could differentiate not only by bpm but also by sound, my boy's heartbeat has a little bit different sound than my girls.

Now tho, it won't count the bpm, I think it's because their hearts are so close to the outside that it thinks it's picking up MY heartrate, but I can still hear them loud and clear, altho it's rare I use it because they are constantly moving.

For me it was a HUGE peace of mind to be able to even hear 1 hb, after 2 m/c's. That and my ob had no intention of doing u/s's until later in pregnancy so I knew that I would be flipping out eventually.

I rented one and got it at about 11 weeks. I sometimes had a hard time finding both (I think the one with digital readout would have been easier to tell the difference but mine were always far apart). I did get an u/s every 2 weeks though so once I felt more secure and I could feel them moving I sent it back to save some $. I went through Baby Beat so no DR note needed. GL with your decision. It gave me a lot of peace of mind in the beginning.

Hi, I was planning on buying one off of ebay they average about $140 which seems better than $25 a month plus I can sell it after I'm done.

We borrowed one from a friend but it would stress me out more. If I was the slightest concerned I would try to find the heartbeats and it would be hard to find both and it would freak me out more. So, after that I never used it again. If I had a concern I just went straight to my OB.
