How many of you had a deep gut feeling it was twins before you actually found out?

I knew almost right away that something was different. I joked about I was going to have them before I knew because I had two carseats and needed to fill them both.

    Congrats! :D

I did IVF so I knew there was a 50% chance of having twins. I dreamed about it before I found out for sure then once I had the confirmation, I dreamed I had B/G. This was confirmed several months later!

Well, twins run in my family. My Dad has 2 sets on his side back to back. And my Mom's Sister had twins. So did my Mom's cousin.

But I didn't think it would happen to me. The day before my 8 week visit. I had a dream the technician saw 2 heartbeats. I woke up that morning freaked out!! So before I left in the morning my Mom told me " good luck, I hope there are TWINS in there!!" .... I called her right after the U/S and gave her the NEWS!!!

My in-laws were expecting TWINS too..!! CRAZZZYYY!!! We're so EXCITED

The day before I found out that I was pregnant I had a dream that my mom and I were shopping with my twin girls! Three weeks later we found out it was twins. And as you can see, they are both girls!

I had no idea but knew it could be the possible reason why I had an abnormal AFP test result. Didn't find out until 17 weeks along it was twins and it was the reason for the high protein levels!

I had no clue about the twins part, but I was certain they were girls...DH was certain they were boys. I kinda love it when he's wrong :blbl:

Never had a single clue...twins do not run in our families. However I had some spotting early on and it had gone away for about a week and a half and then started again for like a day. I made a joke to my husband about that being the 2nd baby settling in. He said that I was not funny. We found out a week later we were having twins! However one of my favorite reactions was my dad...my mom said to him, "She's having twins!" and my dad looked at her and said, "who?"

As strange as it was I had a dream that it was twins but I never told my husband. I told one of my good friends though! We had no family history of twins and didn't do fertility so it was pretty random. I also had dreams about the gender 2 days before the ultrasounds for both the twins and our 2 year old daughter. Both times the dreams were accurate!!

I had the same experience as Rach28. We did IVF - put 3 embryos back in so I knew there was a pretty decent chance we could have more than 1. I had a dream before the IVF and during that we were having boy/girl twins and we are!! Pretty weird. :)

Once I found out I was pregnant I kept having these weird conversations with myself. I would be driving to work or something and start trying to figure out how I was going to tell Jim I was pregnant with twins? I would stop myself and think, why on earth am I worried about this? There is no way Im pregnant with twins! However, I would have this conversation with myself ALL day, EVERY day.

Luckly Jim was with me at my first u/s so I didn't have to tell him it was twins, he could see for himself!

My grandma is a twin, but she has been the last twin born in the family. I had a dream a couple weeks before my ultrasound at 10 weeks. I told my coworker and my husband about my dream. I also told the nurse and the dr about it before my ultrasound and they just laughed! I think the dr was shocked when he saw the 2 babies on the screen.

I knew I was pregnant even before the pregnancy test showed anything (and we weren't trying, so there was no real reason to figure that I was). Then, within a week of learning I was pregnant, I started having dreams about twins. We have no twins in my family. I had four or five twin dreams and asked my midwife several times to make sure there was only one. She could only find one heartbeat so she said I was just dreaming. I still couldn't shake the feeling that there were two babies in there, and I told a few friends about my dreams (although I didn't tell my DH for some strange reason). At 20 weeks I went in for an ultrasound to check the sex and sure enough, twins!

I had a feeling a couple days after my positive home pregnancy test. I began having severe migraines at that time and I knew there was something different. We all joked about me being pregnant with twins or a big girl since hormones cause my migraines to be worse during pregnancy.

For some reason I knew. My sister also knew...which was really weird! I think I knew right away because the pregnancy was so much different even early on. Even though I had a feeling, I was still TOTALLY shocked when we saw two heartbeats on the first ultrasound! I guess my mind was trying to prepare itself for the news!

I had a vivid dream about me having twins even before I knew I was pregnant! Few days later when I was late, I tested it out. Then I recalled the dream and anxiously waited till 6th week to see 2 sacs!! We never looked back since then!

I knew I pregnant before I took the test. Then, as I kept going in my pregnancy, I learned that we have 5 sets of twins in our family. My gut began to tell me that we were having twins. Plus, DH and I talked about how fun it would be.

When I saw that we had two babies on the screen. I was shocked and it took me some time to get over it.

I knew I was pregnant before the test, but I had no clue it was twins. I was really uncomfortable since the beginning, but this is my first pregnancy so I thought it was normal! We didn't find out it was twins until my 16 week appt and and I was measuring 20 weeks. That's when I went for my ultrasound and saw two babies!!

I did IVF so I had a feeling! When the nurse called me and told me that my HCG level was really high, and that I could be having multiples - I kinda figured we would see 2 little beans! sure enough a couple of weeks later we did!! I still don't know what I did to get so lucky! Oh! and I also had dreams that I was having 2!

First pregnancy IVF twins. I knew we had a great chance... but I didn't know for sure until our 8 week appt. ultrasound.

Second pregnancy (natural) I felt extra bloated and huge! Boy was I surprised when the u/s showed two! I joked with everyone about how many were in there this time, especially since a lot of people IRL do not know that I did IVF. So, really, I knew that there were twins the 2nd time around.

I had mentioned at a scrapbooking party at around 5 1/2 weeks along that I they would be twin boys. We were trying to get pg with a girl as we had two other boys who are older. My youngest told me before I found out that they were twins. I told him to shut his mouth! Then I had spotting and was freaking out for two weeks until the second ultra sound. There was only one in the gestational sac and we finally saw a heartbeat. I had asked the doc before she stopped to just "double check" that there was only one in there. I was starting to show alot sooner than my other two. She informed me that since it was my third pgncy that i would show sooner and that a lot of women spot early on. I asked one more time to just make sure and sure enough she found the other one hiding in the back of the other one! They are identical twins so it was hard to see them both so early on. She got a second opionion and sure enough there were two! I even asked her if it could be a cyst!!! and she laughed and said you dont have cysts in your gestaintonal sac!! I was in shock for four months after but am coming around!

We used ICSI and we got back 2 fertilized eggs, so yes we might hoped or had an idea...

Because my twins are identical there is no family history at all of twins, so it is was not even something we had ever talked about or considered. When the u/s lady said 'Well, there's two!' in the first 10 seconds of my appointment, I asked 'Two what?'. I honestly had no idea.
Although, when I thought about it, on the car ride to my appointment one of the random thoughts I had had was 'if they're identical twins, I hope they're not conjoined' (they're not). So maybe on some deep subconscious level I knew.

We had "help" concieving, so I knew there would be a chance but I kept saying the babies from day one. :pardon: I had a gut feeling and I always thought I'd have twins... and I was right! :D

I had no clue. I knew I was pregnant b/c I hadn't had my period in 2 months but a month before 2 pregnancy tests came back negative. Then I figured I was about 10 weeks so I should go to the dr. It was kinda a surprise pregnancy-kinda wanted to be pregnant but then I didn't so I was a little hesitant-finally went to the dr. b/c I was starting to show and my boobs even though still no positive test-
She did an u/s to see how big "my baby" was and she goes "OMG you have twins" and I said "no I don't" and just sat there feeling very in shock and scared and like "no, this isn't real". She was very excited-me not so much.

The only sign now looking back was extreme tiredness the first 2 months. I mean just falling asleep at 9pm when normally I dont go to bed till 1-2am. Other than that, no spotting or morning sickness or anything.

I never expected twins, and always was someone who said I didnt want twins-it never appealed to me at all. So it was ironic. But I am excited now! Still scared but excited.
My mom is adopted so it may run on her side I guess.

My husband said he knew from the time we did the IUI that it was going to be twins. I just kept laughing him off.....little did I know.... lol We found out at 6 wks 4 days, after I had some spotting and had a panic attack and made my RE office get me in 3 days earlier than my planned u/s!

But my gut did tell me it was b/g, I just didn't believe it until the u/s at 18 wks! :D

I found out at 5 weeks that I was pregnant. I started joking with my husband right away that I thought it was twins. I was sooo tired & soooo hungry all the time. We both just laughed it off. At 8 weeks, we found out it was true. It took weeks for us to get used to the idea, but it's great!!

I, too, knew something was different, but never thought it would be twins. I knew even before I took the pregnancy test that something was odd. My MIL kept telling me I was going to have twins because all her veggies in her garden were coming growing in pairs--that was pretty neat.

I knew before I got pregnant. LOL! I had a very vivid twin dream and then we took Clomid to get pregnant and I O'd from both sides. I got m/s for the first time ever at 5 weeks and my quants were more than quadrupling in 48 hours. Then my progesterone was >45. But I was still shocked as all get out when she said there were two. I had talked myself out of twins because I didn't want to be disappointed. LOL!

My DH and I both had the feeling. He would talk to my belly and call them babies weeks before it was confirmed via u/s. We even had two names picked out!
