How many naps do they or should they take at 5 months?

I was wondering how many naps I should be expecting my boys to take now-they are 6 months in a week. They usually cat nap throughout the day but i am working on getting them on a better schedule with longer naps and more awake time in between. Thanks.

 

At that age mine were taking 3-4 naps per day. They were up for 1-2 hours max and then fell asleep.

 

Hmm.. when my twins were this age they were taking three naps a day. They were also getting up by 6:30am. Their naps were no longer than an hour too.

Evan on the other hand has been down to just one nap basically all day since about that age. BUT.. he gets up at 8-9am and his nap is 3 hours long! On occasion he'll take two... but for the most part it has been one.

What I am trying to say is that everyone is different. I would watch for tired signs (rubbing eyes, cranky) while they are awake. My ds didn't 'need' as much sleep as my dd, so when we cut a nap he handled it better.

At 6 months mine were taking 3 naps per day and were up for maybe an hour and a half between naps.

I believe we were on 3 naps at that point.

 

Mine took naps every 1.5 hours for 30 minutes. They took 4-5 naps. By 6 months they went down to three naps a day.

 

at that age my girls had 3 naps a day with about a 2 hour awake window.
