    Hello,

My kids' pedi told me that once they reach one year old I can begin giving them eggs white before moving to give them a whole egg.

Just wonder, how many eggs can I feed my babies? It's very nutritive and hope to be able to feed them one egg per day. what do you think and what do you do. How many eggs do you feed your kids one year old babies per week.

    Thanks a bunch.

You may have heard your pedi wrong. The egg white is more likely to cause allergies, so usually you can start with the yolk first. That said, egg allergies are not very common, so there's usually nothing to worry about. As for how many eggs, my girls get an egg every other day or so. There's nothing wrong with an egg a day so long as you're not pushing eggs and excluding other sources of nutrients (beans, whole grains, vegetables, etc.).

I agree with Tricia, mine have eggs 2-3x a week. I also started with the yolk and did not start giving the kids the egg whites until they were a year old.

We started with yolks too. My girls LOVE scrambled eggs, and my pedi said to feed them every other day, that they didn't need to eat the same thing for breakfast every day as they need variety, nutritionally. That being said, I've been known to give them eggs for dinner as well as breakfast when all heck is breaking loose in the evenings and I need to feed something that is guaranteed to make them smile!! I started out splitting two eggs between them and now I split four eggs between them.

Eggs are a great source of protein, and I don't think 1 per day is excessive. Doctors used to recommend against eggs because they contain cholesterol, but from what I've read, they've since discovered that most cholesterol in your blood is actually produced by your liver, not absorbed by foods containing cholesterol.

My guys are hit-or-miss with eggs, so they usually will share one scrambled egg twice a week. If they liked eggs more, I would have no problem giving them 1 each per day. We just found out that they HATE hard boiled eggs!

I totally wish mine would eat eggs but they won't :headbang: I would start with the yolk as well.

when they were under a year The Super Baby Food book by Ruth Yaron recommended 1 egg yolk every other day... I just split 1 every day... not sure about over a year, but go for it! mine don't like them much anymore, and I need to start "hiding" the crushed yolks in their oatmeal again!

We started with egg yolks at about 11 months and mine did not like them. They do like whole scrambled eggs okay, but they aren't crazy about them. They probably have 1-2 a week. I think it would be okay to do up to one egg per day.
