I tried doing a search, but couldn't find what I wanted!

About how many diapers do newborn twins go through a day? I want to make sure we have enough diapers for awhile so we don't have to go out and get any! Thanks :)

We change our boys just about every time they eat. And then usually, we'll need to change them another time in between feedings if they have a BM. So...probably 7 or 8 per day each. So a total of 14 to 16.

As for buying ahead - I wouldn't go too crazy. I had bought some huggies and didn't like them so now use Pampers Swaddlers.

Cary's numbers look pretty good, unless you're a first time mom, then you may use more at first. I know I did.
I don't think you can go wrong buying ahead. Keep your receipts you can always exchange them. Most places will exchange them without a receipt even.

I agree. You'll want to change before or after each feeding so you're looking at about 8 for each baby and then a few extra just in case. I would tell people I use about 20 diapers a day...well, almost.

We averaged 8 a day, per baby, in the beginning. So a 40 pack of Swaddlers lasted us just about 2 1/2 - 3 days.

Great! Thank you :) Also, I know it varies, but about how long do you think they will stay in newborn size diapers?

We were in NB for about four weeks, but mine were born early. DS needed a size 1 before DD.

We go through at least 2 dozen a day. Sometimes they are in a diaper for only a few minutes before they mess it! But my boys are exceptionally gifted in the poop department. ;)

We went through 8 per day each in the beginning. Every morning, I would count out two stacks of 8 diapers so I could keep up with how many each used. Now I use about 6 each per day or so but I dont change them during the night anymore b/c it just wakes them up.

DS was in preemie size for one month, Newborn size for one month and still in size one but he is very tiny.
DD was in preemie for a couple of weeks, Newborn for a couple of weeks, size one until 3 months old and now size two and now she is growing out of those but she is very chunky compared to her brother.

The standard number is often 10-12 per baby because you want to change them whenever they are wet. This often means at least at every feeding, sometimes after the feeding, and when they poop.

Both my girls fit in newborn size for about 1.5 months and then Ainsley moved to size 1 and Sierra followed about 2 weeks later.

I agree with the number of diapers as well. Our girls don't seem to go through more than twenty in a day. I recommend Pampers Swaddlers as well. Emma can pee right through the Huggies.

I used Pampers until they were about months.. Then with the coupons and them being bigger the huggies do great for us now...

I used preemies for about 4-6 weeks then i went to newborn diapers for about 2 months and then i went to 1's... Keep your receipt and i am sure that you can take them back if need be... OR exchange them at walmart with no receipt...

8-10 per day per baby. Its a lot of diapers in the beginning but it does slow down. Now at 10+ months old we go thru about 5-6 diapers per day per baby (no overnight changing!).

Its hard to predict how many diapers you'll need. My girls were early and small so they were in preemie diapers for a long time. I feel like we went thru NB diapers and clothes pretty quickly (into size 1 diapers and 0-3 month clothes), but its all a haze. I wouldn't worry about having too many diapers on hand before since you can always send someone out to pick some up before your kiddos come home (and the hospital might give you some too). GL with the rest of your pg!

They will also give you some at the hospital to go home with, take as much as you can get. Even if they don't fit into the ones you have right away they eventually will :)

My babies were born early and they nursed every two hours for the first two weeks, then we used about 20 to 24 nappies a day. There after it went to 8 - 10 a day. Also dont go ovreboard with the nappies, I started off with Pampers and my girls got a terrible rash from it and I changed to Huggies. The shop did change it for me though. They wore prem nappies for about 4 weeks, nb for another 4.

I sort of counted on 10 diapers per day per baby. Sometimes we really did use all 10. We used 95% cloth in those early days. Now we use disposables.
