I was just curious as to how many diapers a day your newborns/infants are going through. I were expecting 20, but I heard it could be more than that. Thanks!

Since I was breastfeeding the first 2 1/2 months with my sons we were going through exactly 18 diapers a day. When I switched to formula and supplemented them with breastmilk we went down to 16 diapers a day. My sons are currently 3 months and 2 weeks today and we are using anywhere between 14-16 diapers. I hope this helps you. Also one container of wipes lasts us 2 weeks. So make sure to stock up on what you can get now because going to the store is hard for one person with twins. :itwins_boys: [

My girls used between 10-12 diapers a day each for the first few months.

We were anywhere between 16 and 20 (we had frequent poopers) in the first couple of months. After that it was about 10-12.

    16-20 per day.

I am breastfeeding and we are STILL going through that many! But I guess that's better then being constipated!

probably about 18/day w/my breastfed babies.

if you buy disposables, i'd check out 1-800-diaper.com; they deliver for free on orders over $100 -and it's too easy to spend $100 on diapers!

(I keep researching cloth, but am so overwhelmed i can't ever make a decision about which ones!

mine were going through 10-12 a day each for the first few weeks. They would poop every time they ate and would wet/poop in between too. After the first 3 or 4 weeks, it was 8-10 a day each and pretty much stayed that way until they were about 2. I am one of the moms who changes frequently though, i hate for my kids to have wet diapers at all!

I don't remember how many a day, but we did go through one 96 ct. box of newborn swaddlers every week. My mom ordered them from 1-800-Diapers also - buying all of our diapers so far has been her gift to us. She started buying them before the twins arrived and it was great having them already so I didn't have to keep running to the store. I think we did atleast 4 boxes of the newborn size, my twins were 7 lbs and 5.10 lbs. I think we've had 3-216 ct. boxes of size 1 and will be switching to the next size when they are all gone.

In the first month or so we would go through at least 16-20+ diapers a day. If you haven't had your shower yet, ask the people hosting if they can do the "diaper request". I requested it at mine and it was great!!!! The invitations should include the size the person should buy for you. Since we are having twinkies, they'll typically be smaller babies so we'll be in Newborn/Size 1 more than singleton babies, typically. We seem to be in Size 2 forever so they might want to have a lot of people bring those. Congrats!

We fed and changed our guys every 2 hours. It was crazy. At that time I was using cloth diapers. I almost lost my mind!
But now, at 16 weeks, I change them 5 or 6 times each, max.

I thought the same thing too about cloth diapers being overwhelming. I recieved help from Ali M...she is somewhere on this sight! I asked her questions and she completely took me under her wing. She customized an order just for me. I still haven't gotten the dipers, nor the babes yet for that matter, but I do know she diapered her own and helped me with what I needed. PM me if you need more info, or if you can't get in touch with her! HTH

We changed them at every feeding - so at least 8 times a day - 16 diapers. BUT there were SEVERAL times we went through 3 diapers per baby at a changing because they weren't done.

Thank you so much! I'm glad we weren't grossly underestimating the amount.

The first three weeks we went through 25-30 diapers PER DAY! They poo'd all the time! Now, we go through 12-15 diapers/day

I would probably say about 12-16 a day now. We do NOT have frequent poopers ... my daughter goes once every few days, and my son hasn't gone in 5 days now! ugh ... that won't be fun when he decides it's time to go ... but i had to laugh at the PP mention that sometimes it's a couple of diapers during a change. I just changed my daughter 15 miniutes ago, and she went through 4 diapers, cause every time I thought she was done, she decided she wasn't.

My son was born at 5.8 lbs, and she was 5lbs ... they were in the newborn size for a while, and then he moved to size 1 earlier. He was in them for what seemed like a flash, and now hes in size 2. I'm not sure exactly how much he weighs, he was 12.8lbs at 2 months, and i swear he's about 15lb already. My daughter is in size 1 and will be for a while, she's a peanut!

I made my mom get us a trillion size 1 diapers, and we only had 2 packages of size 2, so i'm making a trip out this afternoon to buy more for him. I was hesitant to do 1-800-diapers because I'm just not sure what sizes to order since they are growing so quickly. At least when I buy a ton at BRU, i can just return them and get the new size I need.

    Good luck!

For the first few months we changed their diaper at every feeding, so we were going through about 16 diapers a day.

They were changed after every feeding, so that was 16 diapers right away. Sometimes we had an intermittent pooping in between.

When they start sleeping through the night is when you'll see the decrease in diapers since you won't be tempted to change them if they are sleeping!

I'd say we've been in that 10-12 range since about 9 months.
