I am wondering how many bottles (or sippy cups) of milk per day do you give to your 14-15 mo. olds?

    Is 4 too many?

    TIA!

My ped recommended 16oz a day, but it just isn't enough for my two with the FL heat. They probably get 24oz total, divided into 4 cups.

We were lectured and lectured about giving 24oz of milk which is what we did they got 3 8oz cups a day. But i was tired of the lectured so they only get 2 8oz cups a day adn the rest is water or watered down juice.

Mine get four 6 oz milk cups a day in sippys. I'd say they usually drink about 18-20 oz a day of what I offer, and then about another 3-4 oz of water a day.

My guys get 3 sippies with 8-9 oz. in each- but they don't always finish them. My ped. said no more than 24 oz. a day of milk. They were about 22 lbs. each at a year old...

Wow, good to know. We give four 6 ouncers a day.

I didn't realize it was bad to give too much milk. Why is it considered bad?

We gave them 16-18 oz per day at that age (2 servings of 8-9 oz each). Their pedi recommended 16 oz. Most doctors will tell you that too much dairy will cause constipation. And, it fills them up. Another thing to consider is how much other dairy are they getting daily through cheese or yogurt etc?

I was always told (or read rather) that two to three cups of milk for that age. It is only a supplement now. My girls probably drink two sippy cups and one serving of gerber splashers. It varies though.

None!! We never did Milk in bottles. I offer them a sippy with milk once or twice a day. They drink maybe 2-8 ounces total a day. I actually wish they'd drink more, but my daughter is just starting to like milk a little now at 19 months, and my son just doesn't want that much. They do nurse still, so that affects it. I think I've heard too much milk could make them anemic since they might not be hungry enough to eat a lot of other iron rich foods, but I'm not sure.

Grace - 16 ounces/day, in a sippy with breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner.

Lily - 20 ounces/day, in a sippy with breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She gets juice for snack because our pedi said to limit milk to 16-20 ounces/day.

    No bottles since 12.5 months.
