How many BM's a day for your 2-3 yr. old?

    What a fun topic!

I have 2 extremes and was wondering what was the norm out there, out of curiosity and concern for one of my DD's. I have one who goes once a day, maybe. She can get a little 'backed up' so I monitor if she's gone or not. The other goes regularly at least twice a day. But her stool is rarely ever formed. It's always more on the loose side. Some days she goes more though. (a whole different post but I'm starting to worry about food allergies/intolerances) So, how many BM's a day for your children??

    Mine are opposite, too.
Gabe goes 3-4-5 times a day. He's full of it! lol
    Nate only 1-2.
Anthony (who is still technically 3 :p ) goes 2 times like clockwork.

Mine go once a day...sometimes twice. Half the time it is formed, the other time it is more like mush! :)

7 times I think, for Kevin and about 2 time for Patrick. IMO, Kev is a bit :db: excessive :db: .

Good greif you've got good poopers! My kids might go once a day, but usually are more like once every 2 days for DD1 and once every 3-4 days for DD2.

I will start by saying that mine eat A LOT of fruit, dd goes 1-2 times a day and ds 2-3 times a day, but they go EVERY day, no doubt about it!!!

Mine seem to be pooping a bit more often now that they are closer to 3 -- I don't know if that's random or significant. But for a long time, it seemed like they went 1-2x a day at most. Now Amy can go 4-5x a day -- always once right after breakfast, once right after (argh) bedtime, and a few more times during the day. Sarah is more like 2-3x a day.

They do eat a ton of fruit. But their poops are often still what my DH calls "rabbit pellets."

You should have see how long it took be to push send after typing that word! I was going to go with 'loose' like you had used but I thought, 'loose' did not do it justice! :)

    Yummy!

My guys go once a day. A lot, like a pound of poop, all at once. Usually at the same time (tandem poopers!) which is nice.

Mine go once a day pretty consistently. Ian can get backed up, though and go as long as 3 days. We've had some problems in the past that required prescription meds and just have to keep track.

Oh Lou, what a lovely topic  Evan is a once a day, sometimes twice a day kinda guy. Ava Grace holds her poop, so she gets MOM daily and usually goes once every other day (not the visually friendly kind!! :bad: )

My kids just turned 3 and 1 goes 1-2x/day, other other 3-4x/day. Had some potty training poop issues this week and both kids had an abdominable X-ray and both are totally "FULL OF POOP" [Peds words]. In terms of consistency, it is supposed to be like peanut butter. Pellet poop is a sign of constipation. Apparently most toddlers/preschoolers are constipated. Not sure how my super pooper can be constipated, but he is. I thought poop was supposed to be somewhat formed at this point, but not according to our Ped. She said 2x/day is normal.

You ladies are too funny . . .

DS goes once a day and has hard stools. He's on Miralax. DD will go 1-3 times a day and it is often loose, runny, mushy . . . however you want to word it!

Most of the time both girls go once a day. Sometimes one or the other will go once every two days. When they haven't gone over the course of a day, I start paying closer attention to make sure they go the next. If they don't I start to worry. We are starting to potty train and I am worrying that they are holding it to avoid using the toilet. I don't want one of them to get "full of poop" and it be painfult for her.

    Hey Lou,

Generally my kids now take one bm a day. Usually sometime in the mid to late am. However, in the past month or so, it seems to be all over the place. Sometimes they poop in the am, sometimes in the afternoon, sometimes they will skip a day and sometimes they will take a morning and afternoon/evening poop. I would think that the norm is 1 to 2 poops a day but it is all so different because it really depends on your childs diet and or allergies etc. The consistency over here is also never the same. Some days it comes out moosh, some days it's one big solid piece and other days they make what we all like to call pebble poops LOL
