We are sooo lucky, our girls are sleeping 12 hours at night. I was wondering if older babies/toddlers sleep more? I've seen lots of posts with babies sleeping 12 hours, is that the norm?

My oldest did 12 hours at 3 months and 13 hours (6-7 at 4 months). Now (she'll be 3 in May) she usually sleeps 7-7, sometimes more, sometimes a little less.

Usually 12 hours and my ds would take a 3 hour nap during the day.

Now if only the girls would sleep that long [IMG]

Dont be surprised if your babies start waking up again...several months ago there were tons of us that had babies around the same age of 3-5 months that all slept through and then one night they all decided that was the end of sleeping through [IMG] BUt hopefully yours will continue to sleep through [IMG]

[IMG] that's funny. I agree- how in the world is it possible at so young of an age! Mine are doing 4/5 hour stretches and on a REALLY good night 6 hours! Well, when they're ready they're ready! I can't force the issue too much.

After sleep training them, mine both started sleeping for 11-12 hours through the night the day they turned 10 weeks old, and have every night since (except for when one was sick twice). It's WONDERFUL!!! They usually nap for 1 1/2 hrs. in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon too. [IMG]

At 3 months old, mine slept for 12-13 hours at night and took 2 two hour naps a day.

NONE of my kids sleep 12 hours. My 7 year old sleeps EIGHT if he's really tired. My dogs don't even sleep 12 hours! We get 4 hours if we are lucky with the babies....YAWN!

Mine have slep through the night since they were 2 1/2 months old (1 month adjusted age). They sleep about 8:00 pm- 7:00 AM. My son did about the same thing. I am loving it! [IMG]

Just because I know that in desperate times I feel so alone in this, I thought I'd post to say that mine have never gone anywhere near a full night. At 3 months they started stretching things out to 4, and sometimes 5 and 6 hours (never at the same time, though, little buggers), but recently we are back to 3 and sometimes 2 hours.

SOME babies sleep through early, some don't.

    Word, sister!

I feel REALLY lucky if Wesley gives me four hours. And that's only about one time a week. Yes, ONE four hour stretch each week. Otherwise it's about 2-3 hours, still.

I've just given up on it already. I'll let him CIO (if I can stand it) when he's about a year old. Until then, I'm his slave.

Jen--we just did a 3 hour schedule during the day, and initially 4 hours at night (we woke them if they slept longer because they were premies). After they gained weight we stopped waking them in the nightime. We did dreamfeeds for awhile at about 10 p.m. and that seemed to set things in motion for 6-7 hour stretches. I will say that I am very consistent, and always feed on a 3 hour schedule during the day, I think that really helps. HTH.

My guys are 3 1/2 months and I don't expect them to sleep 12 hours. They do sleep for about 7 hours and that's fine by me. Fortunately, I didn't need to do anything they just did it on their own.
