OK, let's be honest here! How many of you are still wearing maternity clothes?

I've talked to some of my friends who've had babies this year, so I know it can't be just me! My shape has changed just enough that the pants are still the only things that fit me. I try to go for the tops that aren't too baggy or obvious, but I'm not going to be in regular shirts any time soon. Who knows when the belly weight will be gone, I'm not one of those women who loses weight when breastfeeding! Sadly.

So 'fess up! What are you wearing, maternity or not?

I've made the months overlap a bit in the poll so you can give your best estimate of which time period fits best.

Great poll! It definitely made me feel better about things knowing I am not alone!

I lost so much weight with the girls, becasue I was so sick, that I had to send DH out to buy me a pair of jeans I could wear home. Everything else fell off. Even my PJ pants. I got a new wardrobe out if it, but it was money I didn't want to spend!

I was wearing my maternity shorts for almost a year. I loved the elastic waistband and didnt want to give it up. I was too exhausted to even remotely be concerned about how much weight I gained. Once the boys hit 18 months and life was more predictable I started exercising and the weight fell off.

i had to wear maternity pants for 4 weeks… I could fit in my 6’s but not my 4’s after that… I liked to wear my baggy style shirts I wore as maternity for a long time… but they weren’t maternity clothes… the odd thing is I lost all the weight by my 6 week pp appointment… but one weekend (when the twins were 7m) I think my hips went back together or something, because all of a sudden my 6’s were falling off me and I don’t weigh any less.. my DH was gone that weekend and came back 5 days later and even commented… how could you have lost weight in 5 days, you look so thin… did you eat while I was gone… I got on the scale right there to show him I weighed the same… and of course I ate… I LOVE food!

Some my smaller maternity pants/skirts I had to wear until about 4 months pp. Because I have to dress up for the office, I couldn't afford to buy too many transition items and I didn't have a lot of stuff with elastic. I couldn't wear maternity tops but most of my tops didn't fit for a while because of the bfing so I did have to buy some new shirts. I was about 8 months pp when I lost all the weight (I finally lost the last 10 lbs then...I had lost the majority of the weight by 5 months pp), but it was the boys' first birthday before my hips were back in place enough that I could finally wear my jeans.

The girls were born in October and my birthday is in November, so for my birthday I went to Lane Bryant and bought myself some non-maternity jeans. Yes, they were 4 sizes bigger than pre-pregnancy but I felt so much better just being in non-maternity! So I chose 1 - 3 months, but it's not b/c I was back in my old clothes.

So far I'm the first on to poll voting the "other - I got pregnant while wearing them." The babies were 5 months old and I was still wearing maternity clothes. So I haven't stopped wearing maternity clothes in over 1 year and 2 months. Yikes!

I chose 3-5 months. I wore the maternity jeans around for at least 4months. They were much more comfortable while my body was getting back to normal. It's a year now and everything "fits" but I still have love handles that won't go away so I did buy some tops with an empire waist or a slight flair to hide the bumps. :)

I voted I bounced back right away, but it's not as good as it sounds. The maternity clothes were too big and my regular clothes were way too tight. I wore bigger t-shirts, stretchy pants, sweats in the beginning. I bought a couple things - like a pair of bigger jeans to get my by. Around 8 weeks PP I starting fitting into some of my regular stuff again. By 3 months I was back into all of my shorts and by 4 months I was back into my old jeans.

I wore them for a couple weeks aferwards, and then went through this akward stage for another month where the maternity clothes were huge on me, but my regular clothes didn't fit properly. I found a couple pairs of my shorts that I could squeeze into, and a few tops, so that was it for a while. I still have jeans that don't fit me anymore thanks to twin skin, but hopefully when I get rid of a few extra pounds my wardrobe will look up a little.

I didn't really wear maternity shirts at all postpartum, but I wore mostly flannel button-downs that were several sizes too big. I wore my maternity jeans and yoga pants until about 6 weeks PP -- I still had a pretty big belly. Then I graduated to pants that were a couple of sizes larger than my usual -- it took me several months (or even a year) to get back to my pre-pregnancy size.

I was back in my regular clothes two weeks after I had the twins. But, I was overweight before I got pregnant and only gained about 30 pounds during the pregnancy.

um, I put 5-7 months because mine are 5 months and I'm still wearing them. I guess I need to go buy new clothes since it looks like the weight's here to stay. I just can't find the time to go shopping, much less the money.

I was back in my pre-pregnancy pants by 6 weeks postpartem. I gained 60 lbs with the twins and was very skinny when I conceived them. I was (and still am) 115 lbs when I got pregnant with the twins.

I voted 1 to 3 months because it is 8 weeks pp and I am still wearing my maternity pants....my pre pg pants are way too big now, I am 32 lbs lighter now than I was pre pg. I can luckily fold down the tummy support in the maternity pants to help hold them up but after about 2 hours they start falling off my butt and I look like I cant afford any new clothes....its not that I cant, just havent had the chance to go out and buy new clothes. No way am I taking twinfants and a 4 yr old out to the mall alone to attempt to buy clothes! I will have to wait till I can get a sitter on the weekend. Even my Pre pg shirts are way too big, gosh do I look like a bum :)

i sort of did the same thing. i chose 1-3 months, but that doesn't mean i was back into my own clothes. i've had to buy all new clothes because nothing from before fits me right. i just had this whole shame thing where i felt like something was wrong with me if i still had to wear maternity clothes after delivering. i wish i'd known more new moms at the time so i would have known that shame was a silly thing to feel.

 to you people back in your normal clothes so soon!!!!!!!!

Hmmm...let's see...I'm STILL wearing my beloved Gap Maternity jeans (dark wash, flare leg, love them!).
To work I still wear my maternity black pants, tan pants, and grey pants. I'm wearing regular shirts and sweaters.
Sad. Sad, sad, sad, sad, sad.

Ok, I'm off to work out... ;)

So I wasn't sure what to answer....I can wear all my pre-pregnancy clothes and could get back into my regular jeans by 4 weeks pp, they weren't comfy, but I could get into them lol. I wore almost all maternity bottoms for the first 3 months because I was at home and none of my regular shorts were comfortable and my maternity ones were super comfy. I haven't worn any maternity shirts since the day I came home from the hospital. There are still a lot of days when I'm at home that I am more comfortable lounging around in stretchy maternity pants than anything else so I'm still wearing them sometimes. For work and going out I just wear my regular clothes and most of them are actually too big now since I weigh less than I did when I got pregnant.

I started wearing my pre-pg clothes again at 4 months when I returned to my own home and started taking care of the twins alone. (I stayed with my ILs over the summer as I needed the help and my MIL was itching to have us all stay). I tell you, the weight just fell off me then! Now I need to work on the twin skin... :(

I didn't eat very much after the twins were born due to stress and recovering from the c-section. So, I fit in to my clothes right after 6 weeks. My belly went right down. Then, around 3 months, I started to gain weight back as I was eating again and the babies were sleeping through the night..not so much stress:) So..I was healthier but heavier. I am now in regular pants a size up from my pre-pregnancy weight but I weigh less?? It's that bit of a belly that I have left over after the twins. My pants just fit different around the waist now. The twins are almost 10 months and I am just beginning to get back into a routine so I can start exercising to tighten up my belly and get back into my old jeans and pants. I gave myself a year to just be a Mom and not worry about weight, sizes and all that jazz.

I voted that I'm going to wear my maternity clothes forever!!! Not the shirts, but the pants, you bet I am! I could actually get into most of my clothes when the twins were 8 weeks old, but why bother when those maternity pants are so darned comfy!!

I am not completely in my normal clothes yet but I stopped wearing my maternity jeans in December; that said I have yet to fit into my old jeans nor do I want to buy an interim pair. So right now I'm wearing black yoga pans/workout pants every day. I'm in prepregnancy tops but I do love wearing some of the sweaters and tanktops because they are long and stretchy!

I'm still wearing my maternity clothes 12 months later because I am too cheap to buy new clothes for myself and I am trying to lose weight and I don't want to buy different sizes of clothes until I reach goal. So I am wearing pre-pregnancy stuff and maternity stuff.

I still wear my maternity pants from time to time... I bought a few pairs of Motherhood Maternity's Secret Fit Belly jeans, so those are really comfy.

I don't fit into my pre-preg pants by a long shot, but I was overweight three years ago, and still have a few pairs of those pants that I wear as well. Pre-pregnancy I was a 7, and my bigger pants are size 11 and 13. Although I'm 20 lbs. less than what I used to weigh back then, they're the only size that fit since my waist/hips are so huge now!

I'm 5 months pp, btw. I thought I was the only one still wearing maternity clothes!
