How long to wait to get pregnant again?

Hi,
How long do you think I should wait to get pregnant again?
After all my bed rest and having the babies at 30 weeks I said I would never do it again but, now my hubby says he wants another one!
I wouldn't mind (ONE) more. He's started watching the baby story's again and is hinting. I mean we might not ever get pregnant again it took 14 years and were finally blessed with our Boy & Girl.
Who out there would do it again?? and for the ones that have what advice could you give me???

I just posted about my pregnancy scare! While I would love to have another baby soon I know it's just not wise on my part. I had a complicated pregnancy and have already been informed that my next one will require a cerclage and bed rest. I know that bed rest and one year old twins is not something I'm interested in doing. Also, we're doing okay on my husband's one salary but I know that adding a baby to the mix would really be a strain financially. So yes I will do it again, just not now.

 

Good luck getting preggers again. I don't have advice because this is my only and last pregnancy. With my luck and the way my family is, I'll end up with another set of twins. No Spankyou!!

Have our husbands been talking?!? I posted this a couple weeks back in the 1-4 forum and got great comments. I notice our babies are the same age!! My husband and i aren't trying rite now but we aren't preventing either. :winking0009: .
My older kids are 16 months apart and i loved having them close.

i got pregnant 2 months after i had my first son..
all three of mine were 11.5 months apart..

My advice would be to wait a bit but that is just me. My twins and older DD are 26 months apart and that works some days and not on others

 

most think i am nuts, but i would love to get pg again soon! and since we need IVF i cant say i would mind horribly if it were twins again! but since i had a c/s i have been told by my ob that i need to wait till the babes are 18 months. DH is not too keen on the idea, though, so we are in opposite boats!!

Before I even opened your thread I said to myself "I'll bet she's close to around 6 mos." and then I opened it and SURE ENOUGH...7 mos! That's the month that I thought I could do it again!! LOL!!

I would wait till they are 1 and see where you are in the process and revisit it at that time! Good luck with whatever you do!! :hug99:

 

We want them and our babies are the same age. We thought between 12 and 18 mo we would head back to the fertility doctor. It won't just be luck but that is probably when we will start the long process.

 

I have read that you should wait 18 months between pregnancies. It takes that long for your body to completely heal. Babies conceived before that time tend to have smaller birth weights.

My cousin has 5 children all 12-16 months apart. She wanted them all that close in age. They were all over 8 lbs and born on time.
I do agree that our bodies need time to heal or at least a break. I think everyone is differant.

 

I too got pregnant when my twins were 2 months so when this one is here..3 within a year. I don't necessarily have advice. Ideally I would have waited I guess God had other plans. Alot of reasons I'd have waited turned out ok so far (no real m/s ,uneventful pregnancy so far) I can think of a lot of positives of having children close together. If you have good support I'd say go for it!
