How long have you lasted on bedrest WITHOUT meds?

I've been on bedrest for over 4 weeks now, but have been medicated the whole time (mainly on oral Nifedipine/Procardia every 6 hrs, but also on Terbutaline & MagSulfate when hospitalized...which has been 12 days of the last month).

Today my doc STOPPED my Nifedipine, but is continuing me on bedrest. I'm on Level II, meaning I can get up to use the bathroom, shower daily, & do small meals (plus clinic appts).

My question is, has anyone stayed pregnant after stopping meds but staying on bedrest? My doc is guessing I'll deliver within the next 10 days, but I'm hoping to get to 36 wks (2 wks...for sure 1wk to 35 wks). Should I try to make my bedrest more strict???

 

I was on all the same stuff you are on! (fun, huh?) and only lasted about 12 hours or so before going into active labor. I was on mag for a week and once they pulled me from it for good, these boys were on their way!

 

I came home from hospital bedrest on no meds at almost 33 weeks. Was on bedrest with bathroom priv until 34 weeks and then sort of house arrest until 36 weeeks, still prego at 37!!

Sounds like our meds were the same, I went exactly 7 days after I stopped the meds before I went into true labor.

 

I was only on the Procardia for a week, until they found out it was making my already fast heartrate, even faster. That was around 32 weeks, I think. The rest of the time, I was unmedicated except for 2 trips to L/D for Terb. I had a csection at 37 weeks.

 

Well, I've been off the meds a full week now. I've even 'broken' the rules of my bedrest 2 different days (the doc said it was okay to start lightening up a bit)...and I'm STILL pregnant! Originally my doctor guessed I'd deliver by Monday (the 9th) but at my last appt, he did mention scheduling a csection if I get to my NEXT appt (next Tues)....so I think he's a little less confident now .

However, on a side note, I lost my plug today & have just been feeling crampy. My contractions aren't regular, but are picking up a little...so I'm keeping an eye on things. I'm also taking it easy & drinking lots of water, so we'll see. Maybe we'll get our "lucky" 7-7-07 babies afterall!

The contractions have subsided (although they were quite frequent throughout the day yesterday) & I'm feeling much better today, just tired. We have less than 12 hrs for our 7-7-07 babies & I'm just not thinking it's going to happen. I'm pretty sure they're content RIGHT where they are, which is fine with me. Just makes me wonder if I really needed all those weeks of bedrest & 12 days in the hospital & all those meds....without all that (well, I'm still minimal bedrest), they're staying put just fine! Hmmm....

 

I am with you, wondering when they will come, also thinking today would be cool, was the bedrest effective - I guess we will never know?
I am soooo ready to meet these two, see MD again on Mon and will be begging for induction!!!!
