How long do they nap at 2 years old?

My kids are now 26 months old and they went down to one nap a day around 15 months. They've been quite consistent in napping for 2 to 2 1/2 hours a day, but in the past 2 weeks or so their nap has been only 1 hour. Is this "normal"? Please tell me they're not trying to get rid of their one nap...I'm not ready for no naps a day. Is this just a phase? I really need that down time; think they'll get back to their 2 hour nap soon?

    thanks,
    thea

Mine go in spurts. Sometimes they will nap for an hour. Sometimes they will nap for three hours. But it usually lasts a week or so and then goes back to their normal 1/5-2 hours.

Mine aren't two yet, but close. Their naps vary, anywhere from 1-3.5 hours, and it varies day to day. Usually they do the 3.5 hour nap for the nanny. :(

Emilie naps for about 1.5-2.5 hours. Trevor usually goes for around 3 hours everyday. He is my sleeper!

I agree with Kate. That is what I noticed with all my kids. They might shorten their nap for a little bit, but they go back to their regular schedule. I hope for your sake they go back to their schedule.

Mine average about 1.5-2hrs, but occasionally will sleep 2.5-3 hrs -- I love those days!! They usually only sleep 1-1.5 hours at the sitters, but they sleep on cots on the floor in the living room, so there's probably more distractions.

Mine nap about 1-1.5 hours at daycare, but 2-3 hours at home on weekends.

Mine will be 3 in April.

They sleep about 1-2 hours a day, when they take a nap. They have gone through a couple of long, several-week stretches when they will not nap at all (awful times! No one is happy!). BUT, each time I have thought - this is it, no more naps! And then they have gone back to taking daily naps. So have hope and hang in there!

1.5- 2 hours around here. It's really rare that they go beyond the 2 hr mark.

I also have one good sleeper and one that I just hope goes down for the nap. Allison will sleep a good 2.5 to 3 hours everyday. Sarah, when she sleeps, will sleep that long as well, but for the last month you never know if she will actually take a nap. As of right now she only takes a nap about every other day, she just sits in her crib and plays for the duration of Allison's nap.

My kids all stopped napping around 2. It was either that, or they were up till 11pm every night. :nea:

I'm still waiting for my twins, but my 2 year old sleeps about 3 to 3.5 hours every afternoon. I really hope the twins are that good at napping!!

Mine sleep about 45 minutes, if I am lucky an hour. Usually the total time spent at naptime is 1 to 1.5 hours they play for about 10min before going to sleep and about 5 to 10 after waking. I have never had the luxury of 2 + hours, I wish.
