how long did you use bottled water for bottles?

The other day we ran out of bottled water & I just made bottles from the tap. And they seemed fine. (we have well water)

If you used bottled water, how long did you continue?

our peditrition says after 6 months we could use tap water.

 

i never used bottled water, i used boiled water from the jug. and i stopped at 12 months.

 

Our pedi said up until 3 months. Our girls are over 7 months and we're still using it. I figure we will for a year.

 

I dont drink tap water, only bottled so they will never get tap water. They dont need all the chemicals in it....

 

I used it until they were off formula...which was at 9 months.

 

With my daughter I went between the bottled wather (with the baby's pic on it) up to 6 months and then to Poland Spring after that.

 

I have always used tap water. We live in NYC and have one of the best water supplies in the country. That being said, the doc told me and all my readings, that as long as you have a decent water supply, it's fine to use. If you have well water or a poor supply, you should use bottled or boil, not sure until when...

I nursed until they were 6 months old, and I think we only used bottled water for a couple of months. We switched to water filtered through our Brita filter after that. I think our pedi said that tap water was fine after the first 6 months.

 

I have never used bottled water just regular tap water. I actually heard that bottled water is not sterile and many contain more chemicals than tap water and should be boiled prior to use for babies.

 

I never used bottled water for the twins. I never boiled the tap water either. I've heard that most city water supplies are just fine and the floride in the water is actually good for the kids. I don't know what I would do if I had well water though, there is a lot more minerals and stuff (I remember our well water as a kid turning my clothes orange...I don't know if I would put that in my babies, kwim? )

 

Straight from the tap here. Boiling concerns me since it can concentrate the "bad stuff" that's in the water, and bottled water is, IMHO, a racket.

 

We are still boiling water for formula although I will occasionally use bottled water in a pinch. I don't think I bothered for very long with the other three but a few months ago we had a boil water advisory issued for our area because of excessive rainfall. They couldn't guarantee the safety of the water. I didn't hear about the advisory for the first day or so and I was really glad I always boiled the babies water anyway. Now, it worries me that I might miss something like that again & will have been feeding it to them for days....a small possibility but still... :unsure:

 

We still sterilize our well water (which has tested wonderfully) but, I still like to be on the safe side.

 

We had our well water tested and it came back with fantastic results, so I have always used that. I have never used bottled water. And so far the kids have made it just fine.

 

When we use the powder (which hasn't been in a while), we use bottled. I didn't know there was an age cut-off! Good to know....

BTW and off topic....to Michelle VDH, all the babies with their pics on this site are just beautiful, but I had to tell you that your Tessa Jane's pic just made me go "awwwwwww, how cuuuuuute!" She's a cutie!
