How long did it take you to lose twin weight?

I've seen on here that many twin moms say that they lost all their twin weight by 6 weeks PP...I can't help but wonder:

-How much weight did you gain to begin with?

-Did you nurse? Exercise? Diet? Or did it all just "fall off"?

I lost all my pregnancy weight with DS (40 pounds) PLUS another 15 by the time he was 9 months old, but I was exclusively nursing and having to avoid ALL (and I mean ALL) dairy because he was allergic to it...

Why does it seem to come off so much faster with twins???

-Did you nurse? Exercise? Diet? Or did it all just "fall off"? Didn't nurse. Didn't exercise, it just "fell off".

Why does it seem to come off so much faster with twins??? :pardon: God is taking pity on us? Kidding.

Yes I did nurse, I did exercise, and yes it fell off. However I do a have a "little" belly to finish getting off.
I know with my delivery I hemmoraged after and was in the hospital for 5 days and needed two blood transfusion, almost had to wear a catheter home and then after it all....a D&C (who screwed up there???) I think I lost 30 lbs that week!! I think too because during the first three months I didnt have time to eat!!! LOL

I gained 66 pounds and I am nursing. Just starting to exercise now. But I still have about 12 pounds to go. The first 50 pounds were easy and seemed like they just fell off, but I'm not sure about the rest. With my first DS, the last 10 pounds don't disappear until about a month after I stopped nursing. I hope my body just likes to hang onto the fat until I'm done nursing, just in case. Is anyone else in this boat?

    I gained 64lbs.

Nursed/pumped for a month then formula. Exercise started at 3.5 months PP.

Still have an extra 10lbs that I can't seem to get rid of. I wished it would take the hint and get of my stomach but it seems to want to stay.

-Did you nurse? Exercise? Diet? Or did it all just "fall off"? I am EBF the girls and with that no diet, but minimal excersise when I find the time at home.

Why does it seem to come off so much faster with twins??? I am not so sure on that one, i have lost 40 lbs but I could use to loose 40 more. I did't drop any weight with my first son until i stopped nursing. So we shall see.

It didn't "fall off" of me, that's for sure. I had to work my butt off and it still took a year. But I have to say that pre-pregnancy I always exercised regularly and dieted to maintain a small size. Then I ate whatever I wanted to for 9 months...

-How much weight did you gain to begin with? I gained around 41-43lbs

-Did you nurse? Exercise? Diet? Or did it all just "fall off"? I nursed/pumped for 2 1/2 weeks... but it pretty much fell off. I had lost all of my pregnancy weight 9 days PP. I have lost another 7 lbs below what i was before i got pregnant but i still can't button my jeans yet..

Then again.. who has time to eat while taking care of two babies.. DH is always getting on to me because im not eating very much during the day, and usually when i do eat it isn't much

-How much weight did you gain to begin with? I gained 50 lbs. I was about 10 lbs overweight to begin with also.

-Did you nurse? Exercise? Diet? Or did it all just "fall off"? I wish it would just fall off! I never really nursed. I have been doing weight watchers for the last month or so and was watching my calories before that.

My girls will be 13 weeks old on Wednesday. I have lost 35 lbs so far and have 25 pounds more to lose.

-How much weight did you gain to begin with? 57 lbs

-Did you nurse? Exercise? Diet? Or did it all just "fall off"? About 45 lbs fell off - it was mostly baby weight/placentas/water (severe swelling with pre-e). I started running again about 6 weeks PP - I used run before I was pregnant, but stopped all exercise during pregnancy. I did not nurse and I have a horrible diet! I lost all but a few lbs around 4-5 months PP. But I have good metabolism and have always had a really small frame and had trouble keeping weight on in the past. But I have an ugly poochy tummy since my ab muscles were stretched to the max and beyond repair and I have some twin skin too. I think the twin pregnancy was too much for my small frame. Now I'm pretty self-conscious about the way I look.

Can't compare, since I only have the twins. But I bet it's safe to say I wouldn't have stretched nearly as far with a singleton, and probably could have gone back to normal afterwards.

How much weight did you gain ~ 28 lbs last appt ( had babies at 36 wks 2 days) Have lost 24 so far at 10 days post partum.

What did you do ~ I'm nursing that's it right now. Just now starting to eat "real" food so no dieting and no exercising, still recovering from c/s, tubal and bladder infection.

Why it comes off faster ~ no clue on that one, I guess nursing will take double the calories that nursing one does, and 2 babies keep you hopping more than one! :D

-How much weight did you gain to begin with? 54 lbs

-Did you nurse? Exercise? Diet? Or did it all just "fall off"? I BF'ed/pumped and majorly supplemented with formula for the first month. No time to exercise. I had kind of an anti-diet because so many people brought us meals the first two months (just stopped last week)--people from our church signed up to bring us meals 3 times a week, and they had a tendency to bring lots of desserts, casseroles, fatty foods, etc. It was SO wonderful of them, and delicious, but I had a hard time watching calories. It also took time for my appetite to adjust from eating 3 meals and 2 snacks a day during pregnancy! I lost 35 lbs in the first 2 weeks, then regained about 3 lbs and need to lose about 20 more.

Why does it seem to come off so much faster with twins??? I'm not so sure it does; maybe the people who lost quickly are just more willing to post about it? ;) Maybe because we had more "legitimate" baby weight to begin with so there was more to lose? I'd be curious to know if most people really do lose it all that quickly!

I gained 32 lbs - lost all but 5lbs in the first 3 mos - just fell off from breastfeeding. Then got mirena and stopped breast feeding at 6 mos but started running and yoga again and gained 15 lbs. So now I have removed the mirena and am praying for a miracle.

I also ate whatever I wanted and for 9 months, and gained 70 pounds. Pre pregnancy I was active and ate really well (lean proteins and lots of fruits and veggies).

I pump only now (no more bf :(), and do not produce very much milk anymore. I started exercizing in late Dec. and have lost about 8 pounds since. I am not restricting my calories, but I am eating healthy again. I will start to restrict my calories if I feel like I am no longer losing weight.....I am tired of looking like I might still be pregnant!

Don't know about losing weight with twins vs one....these are my first, and I still have a lot of weight to lose.

I gaind 70lbs. I ate very well Pre-pregnancy and worked out 6 days/week. While pregnant ate fatty foods, high protein, high calorie (trying to put weight on the babes) and I got put on bedrest t 22 weeks for PTL (hence the diet)

I pumped for about 2 months, then formula. didn't start working out until about 5 months PP (didnt have time with work and everything) and then really it was just what I got walking around at work (switched to a job where I was on my feet all day) by 9 months PP I was pregnant again (oops! LOL) but had gotten to about 15lbs. above my PP weight.

With my singleton I worked out religously and ate very well. I only gained 12lbs. with him. I EBF him and am currently 7 months PP. I'm down to my Pre-twins weight, but I can't fit my pre-twins clothes anymore! I have a 'pooch' that wil not go away w/o a tummy tuck, and my boobs are just to big from nursing! LOL

So, in all, it took me 2 years to lose m baby weight and I literally had to work my A$$ off.

With my singletons it came of within 6 weeks!!!

I gained 90 pounds. All I did was eat. Went from a 4 to an 18 or 20 and XXXL.

I lost forty by 12 weeks.

Didn't workout didn't change my eating habits cuz i was soo PPD and didn't care.

After 13 months, I still had 20 to lose so I joined the gym. I've lost ten more and am in a size 8 now.

I still need to lose approximately 10 lbs but it is NOT easy. I'm 30 yrs old and my body is just not cooperating like it used to.

I work out for an hour every single day and do not watch what I eat AT ALL. If I did, I'd probably lose it. I have no self control tho.

Don't be too hard on yourself. You'll lose it if you really want to. I had to work at it tho. You may too. That's okay cuz exercise is GREAT for you!!

My body will never be the skinny, taught, muscular thing it once was, but I've come to terms with that. Oh and I nursed for 5 weeks.

In the first month after the boys I lost 40+. I had pnemon. and a septic infection so I was in hospital on iv fluids 2 weeks after having them. Not a good way to loose but I lost.

Gained some back after I got home and to date have only lost a total of 46. 17 more to go then Im at pre preggie weight.

It took 9 months to gain it so Im not too worried about losing it too fast or slow. Ive always had a hard time losing weight. I seem to get chunkier with each baby. They are 13 months now and I have gone back to the gym.

I was one that was back in my pre-pg clothes by 6 weeks pp...

How much weight did you gain to begin with? 60 lbs (I was super skinny to begin with)

-Did you nurse? Exercise? Diet? Or did it all just "fall off? I nursed for 4 months, the only exercise I got was caring for twins 24/7. I was alone with them for about 12 hours a day and my dh helped about 80% of the time at nite. I did start exercising (very lightly as I can't do much)when they were about 9 months old and managed to get my tummy viturally flat again! It will never be the same but luckily I came out of it with no stretch marks or any twin skin.

How much weight did you gain to begin with? I gained 28 pounds.

Did you nurse? Exercise? Diet? Or did it all just "fall off"? My weight fell off by the time I left the hospital after six days. I continued to lose weight, breastfed, but ended up in hospital two weeks post partum and lost another 20 pounds while in the hospital for the next six weeks. I am in the process of trying to GAIN weight which I doubt is typical after having twins but that's my situation. It isn't ideal but this twin pregnancy took everything good out of me.

Why does it seem to come off so much faster with twins??? I found it hard to gain weight during my twin pregnancy. My doctor said a lot of people who are pregnant with twins much sicker than a single pregnancy. Perhaps that is part of the reason why.

    60 lbs

-Did you nurse? Exercise? Diet? Or did it all just "fall off"?

I nurse but I think I might be retaining it from nursing. I dropped 40 lbs in the first two weeks and the rest is SLOWLY coming off. My kiddos are 14 weeks and I still have about 12 lbs to go to get to my pre-pregnancy weight. Still have a belly. I'm not trying that hard to lose though.

Why does it seem to come off so much faster with twins???

I think a lot of people gain so much extra fluid (water, blood volume) that it seems to come off faster but I think it's a personal thing. Age and heredity also!!! :) I lost all my weight and was fit and trim by 6 weeks PP with my son and I had gained 40 lbs with him. Difference was I was only 17!! ;)

I gained 40lbs with my singleton and lost the weight basically the same as I did with the twins. I didn't notice much of a difference.

I gained only 30lbs and honestly I think the "stuff" from the babies is very heavy so when you deliver the babies (6lbs for me) plus all their "water" and the placentas, I think the pounds come off quickly. What I want to stress to all the expecting mothers is that just because you lose the pounds doesn't mean you fit in your old clothes. I went up a size for 8 months and then worked my butt off by doing daily 1.5 mile walks and counting calories. At about a year pp I was able to go back into my prepreggo pants.

Why does it seem to come off so much faster with twins??? maybe it is because we gain so much water weight when we are pg? plus we have double placentas, amniotic sacs, etc. we drop that weight right away...

on a side note, i did lose all my baby weight quickly, 3-4 weeks, but it has taken a lot longer for my body to return to its original shape and things are still moving around... happily though i can wear all my old pp clothes.

I started out at 140, and went all the way to 185. 3 weeks post-partum, I lost 35, and I've lost the last 10 by 6 weeks. However, I have some wicked diastasis so I'm stick thin but have a mummy tummy. I'm just hoping I can work that off with the 'Lose Your Mummy Tummy' exercises.

-Did you nurse? Exercise? Diet? Or did it all just "fall off"?

I nursed, didn't exercise or diet. It all fell off. Granted, all the weight I gained went straight to my belly. I looked ridiculous.

I gained about 40 pounds and although I did lose all of my pregnancy weight and am currently right at or maybe even a little less than I was pre-pregnancy - it does NOT look the same at all. I have a "twin skin" belly that just won't go away. I stopped pumping/breastfeeding at about 2 months and exercise only about twice a week.
