How long did it take for your dilation to progress?

I'm wondering how long it took you with your twin pregnancy for dilation to progress. I'm 1 cm now. My dr. said that she doesn't want me to get past 4 or 5 CM b/c presenting baby is breach and I'll be having a C.

Also, wondering if anyone else experienced this, I was told that as soon as I start having cervical change and dilate to 3 or 4 cm, they will do the c section. Does this sound common?

    THanks!

besides the option of having a scheduled C/S, that is common to wait until you present to the hospital in early labor to do the C/S.

I was 2 cm at 32 and 33 weeks, 3 cm at 34 and 35 weeks, 4 cm at 36 and 37 weeks, 4 1/2 cm at 38w and when I was induced at 38w2d. Then at 6 am they started Pitocin, at 7.30 am or so I was 5 1/2 cm, at 8.00 am they broke my water and I got the epidural and they were born at 10.32 and 10.36 am. So I walked around with 4 cm for quite some time without going into labor.

At my 34 week check up I was 1 cm. I stayed that way until I went into labor at 36 weeks 4 days.

Well, this was with my singleton, so maybe not helpful. I was a 1cm at 35 weeks and a 2 when I went into L&D at 36 weeks with heavy, frequent contractions. I then dialated on my own, but it took a looooong time and lots of contractions!

thanks for the feedback. I know its different for every woman, but just kinda good to know what others have experienced.

Seeing the OB on Friday, so we'll know then if there has been more progress. Unless labor starts before obviously...
