We just got the crib tents for both babies cribs and they love them and are working :D I am wondering how long you can keep them in cribs? Especially after reading all the posts about no naps and horrendous bedtimes I would like to delay (avoid B) ) this from occuring!!!!

We kept them in cribs until just a week ago. So, that was at 2 yrs and 9 months. They probably could have gone a little longer in their cribs. Keep them in as long as you can!!

The youngest any of our kids moved to a bed was my oldest, an only child at the time and very compliant, and she was just over two. On the other extreme is Kayci who will be three in a few weeks and is still in her crib. It works, I'm not gonna mess with it right now! We got her a crib tent back in Feb (I think it was) and took it off when she was sick about a month ago. She surprised me by staying in so......

My boys are still in cribs with tents and I have no intention of switching until after their 3rd bday in December, I'm not looking forward to sleepless nights plus mine won't really get the concept yet.

My girls came out of their cribs a couple of months ago. So, just over three.

We JUST moved Sarah into a toddler bed about a month ago. She never once tried to climb out and is pretty petite so she still fit just fine in there, even with her 30 or so dolls and stuffed animals! We were of the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mindset and wanted to keep her in there as long as possible. Finally she started asking for a big girl bed. We set it up, and the transition has been SEAMLESS!!

My boys are 31 months and still in cribs with no tents.

We are keeping them in their cribs as long as possible (due to space issues)

Mine switched at different times .. Jesse never really slept in a crib .. but Jayden went from a crib to a twin size bed just before his 3rd birthday. :)

DH put the toddler rails on their cribs about one month ago, probably when they were 3 1/2 years old.

If I had to do it all over again... 3 years old. But we moved and thought that this was the best time..so we made the switch at 2.5 years old.

We're thinking 3 unless they seem ready sooner. I wasn't sure the tents would last that long at first but they're going to make it.

It was an "accident' at 2.5. I had planned on waiting till 3 - but things happen!

Mine are still in cribs at 2.5 and show no signs of wanting to leave them. I have a friend who kept her DD (singleton) in a crib until 3.5. ;)

We are keeping them in theirs til at least 3! We want to get the kids bunks all together so I want to wait til they can handle that. We figure PTing and big boy beds next summer. :)

Hard to potty train while in cribs. We moved them at 16 months to toddler beds. I think before 3 is best, personal opinion. I hate seeing kids in cribs after that because there big kids then and should be treated that way. My nephew was in one after 3 because they were too lazy to take him out. There words not mine. I'd be flamed into eternity over that one I know lol.

The switch is much harder when the parent is not ready. I'd say if there still having sleep issues, wait.

We took ours out @ 3 yrs, 10 months. They never climbed out, they loved sleeping in them, and their toddler beds are just their cribs w/ one side removed. It was a scary transition for us, but they did great and I think it's b/c we waited until they truly understood that they were to stay in their beds, etc.

We moved my oldest DD to a bed at 27 months. Emilie is in a bed now (and is napping just fine, no problems with nap or bedtime for her) and Trevor is still in his crib right now.

I plan on keeping mine in cribs until at least 3 (fingers crossed). I think if they don't share a room the change could possibly go smoother at a younger age, but with them sharing a room I know nap time would be chaos. Figure its best to wait until they have a little more understanding.

I'm shooting for keeping them in their cribs until age 3.

I kept mine in until about a week before their 3rd birthday. For us it was a great decision and we've never had any issues with the transition and bedtime.

DD will be four in a few weeks and she is still ina crib. Now, she is nto a climber - so safety isn't an issue. She likes it. We were going to move her three or four months ago and she didn't want to.

I think that this is the way we are going to do it too. Mine love their cribs, they sleep well in them, they have never climbed out of them, and they dont care that they dont have a "regular" bed.

I want to keep them inside forever. LOL. They can both climb out - we bought crib tents on Mother's Day, and *knock wood* all is well so far!

hopefullly till nearly 3 at least - while they are "big kids" on some level now (we're hitting the terrible 2's HARD with DD) is not the time to switch!

As long as possible... LOL... We have the cribs that become toddler beds so when i think they are ready we will switch to that. I know it will be at least another year, maybe two. No hurry at all for us. :)

I moved my older kids out of cribs by age2...mostly because the new baby needed it. With the twins I am waiting until the end of summer. When big kids go back to school then I will do naps without cribs. THey will be 2.5 months then. They are so easy and love their cribs now. NO rush.

We just made their cribs convert to toddler beds a week ago. So 3 1/2 basically! They had stopped napping for me really anyway. The transition has been fairly seemless. Much less painful then I had thought. Archer fell out of his bed once so far (sounded like a bowling ball hitting the floor. Bummer of a way to wake up!)

My recommendation is crib tents and keep them in there as long as you can!

My cousin is having boy/girl twins in October so I have to move mine to their big kid beds sometime between now and then as she will need their cribs!
