How long can milk stay in a sippy/bottle before you should throw it out?

my husband, who owned a restaurant, says 2 hours MAX, but I always say 1 hour is as long as my comfort level will allow.

I would say it depends on how hot it is and if they have drank from it already ( bacteria in saliva). If it's a "normal" day about 75 degrees I would let them drink off and on from a sippy up to 2 hrs.

We've kept it out in sippy cups for probably up to four hours and never had an issue. I remember when we switched to milk, I was told (or read somewhere) that it could stay out up to eight hours. Of course that doesn't include if it's hot out.

If it's hot - we'll usually leave it about an hour or so, but when it's cooler, like the PP said we've left it around 4 hours and never had a problem, sometimes a bit longer ^_^

My rule was always one hour without ice or two hours with. As long as it was under that time period I would put it back in the refrigerator and use that sippy again later.
