should my girls be fussy???? They both got thier two month shots yesterday afternoon, and the pedi said to give them tylenol (sp?) for the rest of the day and night. Both girls are still really fussy today, is this normal? I can't remember from my older two how they acted or for how long. Should I continue to give them the tylenol??

Shots are the worst! I gave my two tylenol right after their first shot in the AM and continued it for a full 24 hours. I think I even gave them some more the day after just to be on the safe side. Those shots make babies feel like crap! Since I didn't want to overdo it, I gave them 1/2 of a regular dose after the 24 hours of full doses. Instead of 0.4, I estimated the 0.2. It really isn't that much but it stayed in their system a little while longer. Sometimes just a little does the trick.

It can take 2 or 3 days for babies to get over all those shots.

    Hope this helps - Jessica

They can remain "fussy" for about 48 hours after. If they're still seem fussy or have a low grade fever, and ped ok'ed tylenol, I'd give some today. If they're still fussy this evening (knowing it's the weekend), I'd call the ped/clinic just to check.

I have had to give tylenol the next day also. It takes us a couple of days to get over shots. Hope yours babes get to feeling better soon.

Same here. The guy who gets a fever had it for about 36 hours last time, so he got tylenol until it went away.

Our ped said to give Tylenol every 4 hours (skipping one at night -- though you can give Advil then if they're really cranky) for 24 hours. Shots did not seem to bother my girls that much, but I definitely noticed some fussiness the following day.
