how long after c- section did you bleed?

I was just wondering because my girls are now 10 days old - I know I have to change my lilypie...but I am busy..just a question...I was wondering what to expect. Since I have been on bedrest since THANKSGIVING>>> I am wanting to get back to "normal"

 

Congratulations on your girls! I bled for 8 weeks and then it stopped and the next week I got my period for 2 weeks. Ug. FWIW I was pumping for the first 4 weeks.

 

Congratulations on your babies! I had off and on bleeding for about 4 weeks. Sometimes it would go away and then come back, but it's been gone since 4 weeks.

 

6 weeks. but the last two weeks was very light.

 

I bled for what seemed like FOREVER! It was like 8 weeks or so. I wasn't BF but I was pumping.

Months! I think it was around 4 months, but it was very light. I was breastfeeding and pumping. I was told that going on the pill would help with the bleeding, but be detrimental to the breastfeeding, so I just put up with it.

wow - I am not looking forward to the next several weeks.

 

A month? I don't remember it being too much longer than that... maybe 5 weeks? But nothing terribly crazy, and the end was light enough where I could just use a liner.

 

Anywhere from 6-12 weeks with my babies.

Mine was 5-6wks, but very little bleeding by the end

 

I'm pretty sure it was 8 weeks but it could have been 10 weeks....either way it seemed like FOREVER!!!!! now I'm on the Copper IUD and it's all screwed up...........UGH.

 

I bled for maybe 2 weeks or a few days more. But then I started my period at week 5 and never missed one.

 

It was the same for me as having a vag birth. It took 6 -7 weeks before I stopped bleeding. It was a bit lighter than a vag birth though.

 

About 5 weeks, but only the first 2 were somewhat heavy. It was bright red, then pink, then red again, then stopped.

Not to frighten you but I want to warn you to be aware of the bleeding after 6 weeks or so. Mine stopped around week 4 and then started back up again twice as bad. I ended up in the ER and was given medication to help stop it. Ended up having "retained products of conception" and had to have a D&C. That was at 7 weeks post delivery. Two days later, I delivered part of a placenta in the ER. My doctor blew off the 4 week bleeding as me "getting my period." Then suggested a D&C to be sure and she missed more tissue with that as well. Needless to say, I've switched doctors.

If you ever feel pain, have really bad clotting or soak through a pad in an hour, go to the hospital!

 

6 weeks. Just started my period again yesterday (babies are 10 weeks tomorrow)
