I am 34 weeks and 2 days. I have had no issues with PTL, my cervix is fine... I'm worried about my BP but my doc isn't. I was just wondering if any of you had a similar situation to me and went before 37 weeks. The ONLY reason I'm worried about it is because my mom is going out of town when I will be 35 & 2 and not coming back until I'm 36 & 3. I know that they will come when they are ready... I just really wanted my mom to be there. She was at the hospital when my son was born and I kinda want her there to see my daughters. I am going to have a planned section during my 37th week. I feel very self centered worrying about this, I mean it should be the least of my concerns but still it's on my mind.

I don't have any advice for you. I don't think you are being self centered. For all those who get along with their mom, it is totally normal for wanting her there. Especially with the twins. If she is like what my mom was like, then she is completly supportive and knows just what to say to ease a troubled mind
I hope your mom is there for you also, when the time comes.

I was 35 weeks and 3 days. No nicu time for the babies.

I totally understand you wanting your mom there, if mine weren't, I would have went nuts!

I had no PTL, nothing. I didn't even know what a contraction felt like! Water broke on its own at 34w3d and the girls were born at 34w5d. My mom and my older sister where there for pretty much the entire 2 1/2 day wait for the girls to make their appearance. So I think they'll just come when they come, just keep your fingers crossed that its not while your mom is gone. I was so elated to have them both there and I know my dh was very happy to have them there for moral support.

I think alot of it has to do with the presentation of the babies and if there is direct pressure on your cervix. My Baby A is breech and thankfully I'm scheduled for a csection on Tuesday. Otherwise I don't think they would ever come on their own!

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone!!!! My mom is leaving for business and it's a 4 hr flight. She leads tournaments and it really can't run without her (I used to work with her so I understand.)

38w2d. Started to dialate at week 32 (2 cm) all the way up to my induction (4 1/2 cm). My doc always thought I would deliver between 35-36 weeks but I didn't. I had no signs of PTL, just very heavy babies and I had a heavy baby and d&c before so we didn't know what my cervix was going to tolerate ... well apparently 15 1/2 lbs of baby!

I delivered at 32 weeks due to severe pre-eclampsia. Vaginal birth.

I delivered at exactly 37 weeks because I suddenly developed high blood pressure. My OB became concerned when I went in for my appointment and they admited me to the hospital. I was on bedrest and I really feel that helped me carry the girls as long as I did. Try and rest and definitely try to relax. :D
