I am going on 30 weeks and was wondering when do Dr.'s normally schedule a date for a C-section? I know what week it will be if they don't come early. Just wondering when you got to get the actual date. Thanks.

My OB let me schedule mine at my 24 week appt. She scheduled it for 38 weeks, but I think she mostly did this to humor me and give me something to write on the calender. I just told her that my MIL was planning on coming out from VA to stay at home with our girls and we needed a date even though I know that anything can happen in the meantime. She was fine with scheduling that early.

I thought my OB was going to let my boys come naturally instead, around 36 weeks he scheduled me for 37w3d.

We set the actual c-section date when I was about 32 weeks. (for 37.5 weeks)

  5. I asked my OB to set a date so that I knew the pregnancy was going to end at some point lol. He set the date for aug.10 which is 38 weeks gestation.

We scheduled ours around 36 weeks, they wanted to wait until then to see Baby A would change position from breech.

My OB wouldn't let me schedule a c/s until I was 38 weeks. <_< And I had it done at 39 weeks. :)

I had an appt. with a different doctor at 36 weeks I think. She suggested scheduling it for 38 weeks. She did but turns out the doctor was already booked at that time on that day, so he came in on a Saturday to do my c-section. He was great! He probably would have scheduled it for 39 weeks. I was having contractions at my 38 week c-section, so I probably wouldn't have made it to that date!

Mine was scheduled in October and the girls were born in January!

At my 12 week appointment the nurse informed me that I had a date for 38 weeks. The doctor doesn't believe I'll make it until then, but that is the soonest the hospital will let you schedule it without there being complications.

I think I scheduled it around 32 weeks. But that may have been on the early side because my 37-week date (which was when my OB wanted to do it) was right before Thanksgiving and my OB was going out of town for the holiday -- so she wanted to make sure we got an OR booked for me.

My doctor refused to schedule me at my 36 week appointment! She promised to schedule me if I made it one more week, but I wound up going into labor on my own before that.

Mine was only scheduled a couple of weeks ahead of time, which ended up changing anyway to a week earlier!

i scheduled mine at 34 weeks for 38 weeks 2 days. OB said the hospital will only allow a scheduling one month in advance. but from the first appt. i knew the due date would be around 38 weeks.
