I think I'm going to pack mine this week... just because any given week from now on, if my u/s shows that baby b stops growing or slows way down, I'll be delivered - so I want to have everything ready.

Then again, I packed my bag at 29 or 30 weeks for my singleton too! lol I'm a little bit of an over planner! [IMG]

I haven't packed yet. I just barely made my list of what to pack this morning. I think I'll start putting everything together next week. but I don't like to jump the gun on anything. it just makes me overly anxious. but I figure that now would be a responsible time to pack just in case something unexpected were to happen.

I guess it depends on your situation, and how you like to prepare. I haven't really done much of anything to get ready other than crochet a couple of afgans, and buy comming home outfits. but Im more of the attitude of it's not big deal if I go to the hospital with nothing. cuz DH will be comming home b-4 I need any of it anyway. so if I had to deliver with nothing I'd just have him bring what I need later.

with my singletons I didn't pack until about 38-39 weeks (I was in labor when I packed twice in fact).

I don't know if this helped at all. but have fun packing whenever you decide to do it.

with my first 3 singletons i packed during the last month, but i can tell that i am going to have to pack a lot earlier this time---hehe. i think that anytime is good as long as your not walking out the door packing it. lots of love!

I was on hospital bedrest from 28-32 weeks, and so I came home and just "repacked" my bags by adding the baby garments!

I was told to expect these babies mid- December! so I packed
early around 28 weeks - now I have packed and repacked
and I am still pregnant - but at least I am ready!!
and I would recommend packing early so in case you go into labor
and are not home - someone can pick up your stuff and you won't have to
worry that they may forget something!!

    Thanks ladies!!

Our OB's office is 45 minutes from us, as is the hospital, & since I'm going every 2 weeks now, I just wondered if I should have stuff in the van just in case he would ever send us directly to the hospital or something, kwim? My dh usually doesn't like to leave my side when I'm in labor, so I don't know that he would be coming home. He stayed 5 days with me in the hospital with Kaylee.

I think I have had my bag packed since week 30. I am a little over 35 weeks now. Just had a False run to the hospital the other day (thought I was in labor but got sent home). At least now i know what I was missing in my bag.

Here are some things that I would be sure to pack.

    1. Cell Phone Chargers (we forgot these...all of our family is long distance so we really needed them to keep them posted)
    2. Insurance cards & Photo ID
    3. Pediatrician's Information
    4. Toiletries (Brush, Hair ties, Toothpaste, Toothbrush, Chapstick...even though if you forget these some hospitals will provide... just ask)
    5. Slippers or socks
    6. Snacks for your husband
    7. Magazines, book or other entertainment items (you might not go into labor for a while)
    8. Extra duffle bag to take all the goodies the hospital gives you

    Oh---Don't forget a camera!!!!

Here is a link to a site with the basics for packing a hospital bag

    Hope this helps.

I am packing mine this weekend. My Ob said if you are having NSTs you should be ready to be admitted.

Don't forget those baby books so they can put their footprints and handprints in there!

I also packed mine really early - so early that I forgot what I put in it and had to look the other day! The nice thing about having it packed is that if you get suggestions from people about what to pack, you can just add them to the bag instead of trying to keep a list and having to do it all at the last minute (or in the middle of the night). One of my friends had her singleton at 35 weeks and was going to pack her bag the next morning, but went into labor that night, so I packed mine extra early. It made me a little nervous, but at least I felt prepared. And now I am at 37 weeks, so I think I will have to take their preemie clothes out and put in newborn-sized clothes instead! The twins will be my first, so I didn't feel comfortable just throwing stuff together at the last minute.
Someone recommended I bring my own pillows, towel, chapstick, toiletries, glasses (I wear contacs), a book on breastfeeding, a few sets of clothes/t-shirts for the twins, heatable pad, lots and lots of socks and old undies, so I think I have all that in my bag. I have to go check again, LOL!

I haven't packed yet - I'm thinking maybe next week after our shower and then I'll be 30 weeks - as long as this week's cervix check looks good - I packed in the last month with my three singleton's

Oh I wanted to add too, when I packed for DS, I put a list inside my suitcase on top of everything of all of the last minute stuff to grab... the camera, laptop if you're bringing it, toiletries/makeup that you can't pack till day of, etc. That really helped make it quick to get out the door, and if I wasn't the one bringing my bag, somoene else could've gotten everything for me.

I didnt get to pack. I was planning on doing it on the monday i had them. My partner and i had just written my birth plan on the sunday night and i said tomorrow when you go to work i will get my bag ready! Uh that just did not happen! I ended up taking to the hospital a pair of knickers, socks and my epilepsy tablets as i thought i was going to get out the next day. So my advice pack REALLY early so it is ready and waiting to go. x
