My DS wakes in the middle of the night not to eat, but for a swaddle. I want him to STTN. Should I start letting him CIO? I don't know what to do here. We are so tired and really want this to end since its not a hunger thing. Is 3.5 to early?

I have read that before 4 months a baby just feels like nobody is responding to their cries if you let them CIO. (Again, just what I read.)

Personally, I wouldnt even think about it before 6 months old. Mine didnt STTN until they were 10 months old.

4-6 months is what is recommended by most peds. I waited till 6+.

I personally would not do it before 6 months. We did it at 7-8 months with our oldest DD and 10 months with the twins.

I wouldn't do CIO until closer to 1 yr. Maybe you need to wean him, gently, from the swaddle, and that would solve the problem without CIO.

I did it around 5 1/2 months since my boys were eating out of habit but looking back, I wished I did it closer to 5 months.
