how early did you get their heartbeats?

My dh's cousin's wife is now expecting. This was their second round of IVF. Her numbers looked great for possible twins. (They had two embryos put back.) She had a bleeding scare last thursday... I think she is 5-6 weeks along, so she went to the ob/gyn. They saw both embryos had implanted, but only found a hb on baby A. How long did it take to see both hbs for those of you who had early u/s with IVF?... I didn't find out about my twins until my 11 week u/s...so I'm not much help to her....

i had a bleeding scare, too. i went in at five weeks and they were able to detect both heartbeats...but i don't know if it's different when you have an assisted pregnancy.

I didn't do IVF but we saw two sacs and only one heartbeat at 7 weeks. Went back the following week and saw both h/bs at 8 weeks.

I had IUI and they saw two sacs at 5 weeks and only one yolk. Then at 7 weeks they saw 2 hbs.

We did IVF and at our first u/s at 5 weeks we didn't hear or see the heart beats, but we did at the 6-1/2 week u/s.

We heard the heartbeats with a doppler around 15 weeks for the first time. Dr's hadn't tried before that since I also had ultrasounds at 8, 10 and 14 weeks.

    We didn't do IVF

We did IVF and at 5 weeks we saw both sacs. At 7 weeks we saw the 2 HBs. So it's still pretty early. All the best and Congrats to them!!!!!

5 to 6 weeks is still really early to see two heartbeats. I didn't do IVF but I've charted my cycles and know EXACTLY when I ovulated, how far along I am, etc. With my last twin pregnancy we saw two heartbeats at exactly 6 weeks. This time our first ultrasound was at 7 weeks and we saw both heartbeats.

We "saw" both heart beats at 6 weeks on a transvaginal u/s. We "heard" them a week later on a transvaginal u/s as well.

I hope all is well!! All the waiting during the IVF process is killer!! I wish her the best!

At 7 1/2 weeks, only one baby had a heartbeat. At 9 1/2 weeks, when we went in for a repeat u/s to check on the second baby, both had heartbeats.

At 5 1/2 weeks, we could see the sacs, but no hbs. We went back at 7 weeks and saw both hbs.

I think its still early, I'm no "real" help, I didnt find out I was having twins until almost 20 weeks!! LOL! But from what I've read and heard, i would say thats still pretty early... Give it a couple more weeks for a 'for sure'... IMO

I found out I was pregnant at 6 weeks and when I went in for my first ultra sound at 8 weeks is when I found out I was pregnant with twins. The doctor was able to see 2 hb's at 8 weeks.

We got heartbeats at 7 weeks which was the first u/s (or at least the doctor said he saw them - I really couldn't tell!)

thanks for all your help! It's been reassuring to her to hear some of these answers... I'll probably invite her to come here in a few weeks if it turns out to be twins. She's had a really, really long wait to have children, and I don't think she's ready to jump the gun on this turning out to be twins quite yet.
