OK, my jaw dropped today - DS was almost crawling! At 5 months! He was playing on his tummy, put his head down, lifted his butt, lifted had his whole torso a few inches off the floor and started "walking" his knees. He managed to scoot forward a little. He was doing kind of an inchworm thing: head on floor but everything else up and crawling, then head up and belly on floor, then head down and everything up... So funny! And he was obviously trying to go places - he was trying to get my water bottle, his latest favorite toy.

This little guy is so stubborn and persistent, I wouldn't be surprised if he figured out crawling in a month or so... :)

That's great! I think my babies were army crawling at 6 months, and Jake was doing the traditional crawl by 7 months, Emma at 8 months!

mine were army crawling at about 5 1/2 months. it took a while to do the real thing, but they still got into everything with the army crawl!

I honestly can't remember exactly when they started to crawl, but I really think it was around 6 months. I have a little notebook upstairs that everything is written down in, but I'm too lazy to go get it ;) but entirely possible he'll be there soon!

My girls are pulling up to standing and just about cruising already!!

...although I'm counting myself lucky...DH walked at 8 1/2 months....the girls and I have already had a chat and I think they're going to wait for a more reasonable time to start walking (and going in two different directions with the two dogs going in the other two directions 8P )

Totally possible! It's so fun to watch, isn't it?

My older one did the army crawl at 6 months, and traditional crawl two days before she turned 7 months. Then, she developed some funky scoot where she dragged one leg....but she got so good at it that she didn't bother walking until 15 months!

Micah and Lucas at 6 months. My Miss Molly started last week, though she was full term and my boys were 5 weeks early. Molly hasn't had to crawl because her brothers wait on her hand and foot.

My 2 year old was crawling at 6 months as well. He was just so motivated to go places! It sounds like your little guy is motivated too!

One of my babies was scooting her little knees at 5 months and then crawled at 6 months. Now, at 8 months, she pushes my 3-year-old's chair around the livingroom and walks behind it. Today she had a stretch of a couple of seconds standing with "no hands". EEEEK!

As for my other sweet twin, she's just happy to be here and will crawl in her own time. LOVE IT! Nice to have a baby you can leave in a safe spot for a few seconds. She sees her sis crawling and wants to, but once she gets herself on her belly, her attempts to crawl resemble a "SUPERBABY!" stance. Just the belly on the floor with arms and legs up like she's flying. It's not getting her very far. lol.

My DH crawled at 3 months. He was (and still is) a very determined dude.

My eldest walked at 7.5 months and began crawling at 6.5 months.... so anything is possible! Rheamay's son Gabe was crawling at 4 months and walking at 6 or so.

I was about to post he same question lol. My wins have been getting up on thier knees for about 3 days now, they dont get thier hands up at the same time, but they have figured out how to push with thier legs to get somehwere. Also they do this scooting on thier backs across the floor- anyone else do this?? Already they roll everywhere, earlier i had them on the floor, walked away for long enough to walk in the kitchen and back and one was under the coffee table and one was half under the couch! EEEK!!!

Wow! Cool stories of all those determined and active little babies.

DS is making progress every day at inchworming his way along... We'll have to start babyproofing earlier than I bargained for!

My partner was crawling at 6 months and walking at 8months so it is possible. The other day on morning tv there was a little baby who was walking at 6 MONTHS!! x

Yesterdat the girls had a 'play date' with our friends' little girl who is 10 days older than the ladies (oh and full term as opposed to our 34weekers). I was so amazed at how well she is crawling! Apparently she started crawling backwards about 3 weeks ago and last week finally started going forward.

My two aren't crawling yet, but they are scooting and can get around pretty well. Funny thing is the girls are now sitting pretty well, but our friends' little girl can crawl, but she doesn't sit!!! All babies are different :)
