how do you work around poops?

Dd seems to always poop lately while in her crib trying to get to sleep for her nap. It ends up either ruining the whole nap for both of them or cutting it short. This has been going on for almost a week. So on the days the morning nap got canned we were like ok, well they will have a good nap in the afternoon (and they did go down an hour earlier on those days). It worked ok a few times. Today, they slept for an hour the whole day and then they were up because she pooped. I feel like they are not getting enough sleep and I feel so bad, I don't know what to do. It seems like the only times she poops are when she is (or should be) napping. I hate poops for ruining my babies well needed sleep and my breaks. Any advice??

So does she wake up when she poops? My kids pretty much kept sleeping (still do) if they pooped while they slept.

Yup, seems to be either she wakes up or won't go to sleep at all if she has pooped or one is coming very soon.

I'm not sure what your feeding schedule is like but I tried to plan our meals so they would have atleast 45 minutes between meal time and nap time so they would have a chance to get all the pooping out of the way. Now I'm lucky. Either they poop in the morning right after breakfast or at night right after dinner.

I have the same problem here!! So frustrating when it ruins the morning naps and sometimes the afternoon naps too.

My only suggestion is to try putting her down for her nap a littl bit earlier, maybe 15 minutes. Is it possible that she's making a habit of going once she gets in the crib? If so, put her in her crib early. If she poops, change her and put her back in before the nap is ruined. Does that make sense? I have no idea if it will work...just a thought. Good luck!

We had the same problem here until a few weeks back. what we do now is give them some warm milk right after their meal. So if they have to go they do it right after eating and that avoids the problem during/before nap time. HTH
