How do you wash your legs?

So I took a shower this afternoon and was bending over/squatting to soap up my legs (which is getting harder and harder to do!!!) and got some severe pain in my lower abdomen. Straightened up immediately and did not bend any more as I rinsed the soap off with a sprayer.

Then as I was leaning over the vanity to apply moisturizer, more pain in the lower abdomen. So I put my prenatal cradle on and wore that while I blow-dried my hair. But I keep having pain. :( I know its not contractions because my belly is soft, and it doesn't feel like a contraction, it feels like I over stretched and now I'm hurting.

So I figure it will go away in a few hours, but what about tomorrow? And the next day? and every day until I deliver? How am I going to wash myself?

Anyone have any suggestions of products or anything that help?
BTW, I have a very, very small shower. :(

I get these pains too- ouch! I've been told it's my ligaments stretching to accommodate the growing babies. I didn't have this in my previous singleton pregnancies. Can you not take the shower head off the wall and angle it round to wash? I now need to sit down to put on my trousers and socks or I get the pain too.

Oh the joys! I too wonder how I'm going to manage the next couple of months with this! My midwife told me to rest if it happens and put a well wrapped hot water bottle on my back to soothe the muscles, and that seems to ease it a bit.

Lately I just raise my leg up and prop it on the wall of the shower and do a very quick rub down, shaving them has basically gone out the window all together. Then to wash my feet I lean forward just a litte bit and prop my foot up on the opposite knee-it takes balance so I dont know how much longer this will work. I have a small shower also...

I bought a really long back brush and used it to scrub my legs. You can even get your feet too. :)

Oh, that's a really good idea! I've just been going crazy trying to think of a way to get soap on my legs without bending over!

Lesley Anne, I don't know if my balance is good enough to attempt a one-footed maneuver!!! I was shaving my legs that way earlier in my pregnancy, but now I don't trust myself not to fall.

As for shaving--ugh. I'm going to have to talk my hubby into shaving my legs for me so I can wear a short dress to my brother's wedding in a couple of weeks! Or be the hairy-legged sister of the groom!

I was wondering the same thing..lol. Bending over has become quite painful in the last few weeks...I think I'm ready for my handicapped placard. LOL.

I was good about shaving my legs in the tub until about 34 weeks. Then I had to have my husband do it. :( Good luck. The brush idea sounds great!

Just be glad that we are headed into fall! I was huge during the peak of summer and shaving my legs every day was such a chore, I would need an hour nap afterwards! It was worth it though not to have to wear long pants!

I have a shower seat that I put one foot up at a time and wash. Though, at this point even that is getting difficult LOL

I wash them in the bath...my last attempt at bending over hurt me so badly, I thought I injured the babies. I also prop a leg up if I have to in the shower. My problem is putting on socks. I can cross my left leg somewhat and get the sock on, but my right knee can't do that because of surgeries and past injuries. So I maneuver it the other direction and attempt to put my sock on. Am I the only one who can't tie my own shoes. I feel like a little kid on my way to school asking to have my shoe laces tied. YES..I know I can use slip ons, but I have a couple pair of really comfy shoes that have laces.

I had a small teak stool in the shower, which I would sit on or lift my leg up onto to rest and reach it. And the sprayer helped a lot too.

Outside the shower, i used a special razor to shave - I think it's the Venus but basically, all you have to do is wet the razor (like under the sink) and shave - it has shave gel right on it. Shaving in the shower just didn't work at all!

I can't even shower anymore- not effectively. I have to take a bath now. We have a big jacuzzi tub. Thats the only way I can reach everything. Shaving standing up is a joke. Bath all the way.

I have been having bad pelvic pain when I lift my legs at all so showering is just not good.

I've temporarily given up on washing and shaving my legs... I figured my legs don't get very dirty and i live in a cold climate so I cover them up with pants anyhow. I'm not exactly a head turner right now, so a little leg hair won't make much of a difference!
