How do you store ALL those sippy cups?

My twins are taking well to sippy cups so far - subject to change at any moment. My 3 year old still uses straw ones to go in the family room. Between all those cups being on a counter, and still having some bottles since the twins aren't quite one yet, how the heck do you store all those cups? We have ones they like to drink milk out of, which of course are not the same as the ones they will drink juice or water out of (yet...) We've still got bottles on one bottle rack, which I may end up using for sippy cups, but thought I would ask to see if anyone had any better suggestions. I know we are lucky that they are taking to sippy cups so well, I just feel like they are multiplying like bunnies... :nea:

    Thanks!

I have 2 sippies per young child, 6 total. I figure while I'm using one set the other can be washed. It's really helped with my clutter to limit the amount I have.

I have, I don't know how many sippies, maybe 10-12? We use 6 a day. I cleared out one of the lazy susan spots in the kitchen cabinet and use that for the sippies.

With my girls I stacked them together. I would put one in the other and then put the lids all in one stack. I had a couple different ones too so it was also easy to see which lid went with which cup. Now with my son (who was born on the same day as your twins) only has two sippy cups that he will drink out of, so I put water in one and milk in the other (I keep them full for the day and then just wash them at night, the milk cup only comes out at meals so they milk doesn't stay out for to long and get old). I have all my extra cups in a cabinet that doesn't get used much, I'm hoping that my son will take to one of those sippies.

Lids and rubber stoppers go in a little rubbermaid bin. The bin and the sippies (stacked) go in the cupboard with the rest of our cups, mugs, wine glasses, etc. I only have 6 sippies for the kids. Once I figured out which brand they preferred, I got rid of the others. Hang in there...that should be soon for you!

We're the same way here. I've just thrown them all into one med sized square plastic bin. I'll stack the cups inside one another and the lids all go in there too. My two still use a night time bottle, but I've done away with all the bottles but two. I was the same way with their bottles. So now the sippies are residing there instead of bottles. I don't have time to sweat being neat and orderly, but that's just me.

We don't have a lot of cupboard space in our kitchen so I bought one of those little rubbermaid 3-drawer units on wheels and toss all the sippy cups, plates, bowls and kid utensils in it. It's worked out fairly well and my older one can go and get the stuff when we eat, so she helps set the table!

I feel the same way but that's my own fault because I keep buying more. The girls have their own cupboard that has their bowls and cups in it but they still end up all over the house.

We have about 5 per child that are used actively. I just store them lid off, upside down on top of the cup and use a shelf in the cabinet just for them. I like to have that many so I can have a new one per drink and then put the old in the dishwasher. They do take up room though.

I use a plastic colander to store the tops (when we still had bottles the the tops for those would go in there too). I stack the cups. For my cups with handles, we have little hooks hanging on the underside of cabinet shelves.

That's how we do it too. I agree, they do tend to multiply at my house too!! :winking0009:

we have a kid cabinet too. Mine are off bottles but we put everything kid oriented in them including their snacky food. Easy to get to in a rush.

    guess im totally different..

all our dishes/ kid stuff is up high..

i keep two sippys per kid 6 in all in my dish washer.. and let them get washed every time i run it..

they must be the cleanest sippys in the world..

my other set is in the car diaper bag incase were out in public.. i take them out there.. but.. i havent been using the car
ones since my kids started drinking water..

with bottles.. i used to set them up.. in 4 rows.. fill them with enfamil and as they were finished.. i would move them to the
dish washer.. leave them there until the next morning.. and refil..

now i carry a cooler everywhere..

ps im ocd.. about my kitchen /bathroom and my room.. kids toys.. have become a different story..

I have two sippys per child. One is insulated for Milk and when we go on outings. I throw out sippies every month and replace with new ones as they "wear" out faster.

We do have a couple little handled open cups we use as well but that is up in the cabinets with our drinking cups.

I did leave one cabinet for them as an experiment. This is the only one they are allowed to "get into". It has a dish bin filled with some of their old bowls and cups and small containers. Surprisingly, they have left the other cabinets alone! We have about 10 low ones with a corner spinning one that I have no way of locking that I know of so it was well worth giving one up!

We use the First Years take & toss ones, and they're stackable. They're just in a big tower in the cupboard. It's annoying because the tower falls over if it gets too tall, but otherwise it's pretty manageable. They're so cheap that I bought about a dozen, so we just wash a whole bunch every night, but don't have to worry about finding a clean one during the day.

I just cleaned out a whole shelf of miscellaneous non-matching sippies that we never used -- I'm handing them down to my SIL. ;)

I stack them in my cabinet next to the other cups. I always buy stackable!

I use to have about 30 total. I cleaned out my cabinet and now have about 15... I still need to get rid of about half of those! I keep mine in the cabinet, I try to stack them nicely so that they don't take up to much room.

Basically the idea is to have as few as possible that you can get away with and then there is no need to take up so much room! So for us that was about 3 per child. Like Kate, once we figured out which ones we/they liked, we tossed all the others. Eventually we were only using the take-n-toss varieties, which stack really well and don't take up much space at all. We usually start with about 10-12 and toss some after we use them while we're out and about, so that eventually dwindles down to about 6 or so, then we buy a new back of the take-n-toss, etc. So usually we just have one stack of the sippies in the cupboard and one stack of lids next to it.

I have 6 and I store them in my fridge. That way, I have counter space...I have a large fridge and the girls take up one shelf b/c we also store bottles there too (yes my 16 month olds still get 2 bottles a day)

Our kid cabinet was a disaster until we got this organizer. It's great and fits on one shelf of my cabinet. The second shelf of the cabinet stores all the Nuby (non-stackable) sippies.

Like others, after I found what sippies were best for us I dumped the rest on my sister. At this point, the boys would probably drink out of whatever I gave them, but we use Nuby's for milk and anything they might get mobile with around the house because I find they don't leak as much (ok, so if your kid WANTS to make it leak, they can, but at least not if they just get dropped/abandonded on the floor). They are less convenient because they don't stack, but the amount of time I save not scrubbing spots off the carpet is a good trade off for me. Everything else goes in the take n toss sippies/containers.
