How do you sanitize

I stick what I can in the washing machine/dishwasher. I spray the non-porous toys with sanitizer, but how do you sanitize the stuff that doesn't fit into either of those categories? We just got diagnosed with pink eye and I'm on a sanitization rampage ;)

The stuff I'm not sure what to do with:

*Soft toys/animals that have batteries/electronics that aren't removable
    *Set of foam blocks.
    *Books
I'm currently spraying them page by page - it's taking f-o-r-e-v-e-r! Plus, this method only works on the board books, not on the cloth/music books or regular books.

I'd double check with your dr to see if this is safe (I read that it was) but maybe mix a very light bleach/water mixture into a spray bottle & lightly sprintz them & let them air dry?

This suggestion won't sanitize them, but to kill the dust mites you can put stuffed animals in the freezer and/or vacuum them.

Spray them with alchahol, it kills bad smells and disinfects

I use a product called "babyganics" for all their toys. It is an all natural sanitizer that this safe for children to put in their mouths afterwards.

ETA: 1 part vinegar, 10 parts water is a good, natural sanitizer as well...

I believe sunlight can be used to sanitize things. I'm not sure how long you'd have to leave toys in the sun or how effective it is. Just a thought though...

I use a light spray of Clorox Anywhere Spray - even on softer stuff if you spray from a few feet away you get enough on there...

I steam clean them with a small steamer I got several years ago before kids. It works great - no chemicals, and easy.
