I had a storage closet thing and it's not working- was curious to know what others did to get their kids shoes organized and in one place?

 I would be the wrong person to ask, since I just have all their shoes in a wicker basket! It works, though, at least till they start wearing shoes more.

We are a shoes off house so they all go on the divider(everydayshoes) or in a drawer in their room(dress shoes)

I put the girls on the shelf above their clothes in their closet.

We have the shoe storage deals you can hang on the back of the door. We used to keep them in a basket, but it got too hard to find them. This works out great for us. We put dressier shoes towards the top since they aren't used as often. It's great just to able to grab their shoes and go.

I have a basket on the shelf under their changing table. When we take them off they go straight into the basket. They only have a couple pairs each so this works really well for now. Plus, Daddy always knows where to find shoes.

i have the hanging shoe bag for the closet, holds 20 pr shoes. One half is designated for each twin. Since the shoes are small enough, I can fit both shoes into one slot, KWIM? This shoe bag only has in it the ones that currently fit and are in season. If there are off season shoes, like black church shoes, then they go into the big diaper box. the ones that are too big, they go into the large empty diaper box. I just pull that out as the season changes and sizes change. The storage box is on the top shelf of the closet.

i have to make sure that the ones on the bottom slots are the ones that I don't mind them wearing at any time... otherwise rachel would wear Alexis church shoes (which are too big) to play in outside in the mud -- so the lower sections have their daily tennis shoes, slippers, etc. the upper sections have hiking boots, church shoes, sandals, water shoes.

    WOW... that's a lot of shoes!! :D

My kids only have a few pairs of shoes, so most are stored in a bin by the door. We are also a "shoes off" house... so as soon as they come in, they know to take their shoes off and put them away. The dressy shoes that we only wear occassionally are stored in their closet.

LOL, I know it's a lot of shoes. I keep getting stuff from ppl. and so I take it. but in the shoe bag itself there isn't but about 6 prs of shoes each.
sandals, water shoes, hiking boots, sunday shoes, tennis shoes, slippers.
snow boots and rain boots stay in the garage.
you can imagine how it is when i try to pack and go someplace for a weeK!
shoes that are too small I give away. shoes that are too big or out of season i store.

The girls only have a few pairs of shoes each, so we just keep them in a drawer in their dresser.

They're thrown on 2 shelves in their Armoir. Every once in a while I go through and straighten them up, but the girls like to grab them out whenever the doors are open (they love shoes!), so they don't stay that way for long.

We are a shoes off house here as well. We have a plastic laundry basket in the front hall by the door that everyone tosses their shoes in when they come in the door. It's to the point now that it's overflowing most of the time so I need to find another solution! It's not pretty but it does the job most of the time!

I have under bed/crib shoe organizers that I think I got through Avon. They are really cute, pink and blue and have a place where you can use stickers to put their names on them.

I wouldn't call it "organized" but our coat closet is directly across from the bottom of our stairs, so I took an old laundry basket that was cracked and put it on the floor in the closet, and all of their little shoes are tossed in there. When it's time to go somewhere, I tell them to go get their shoes and sit on the bottom of the stairs, which they all do, and then I sit on the floor in front of them and put their shoes on. I have a shoe rack in the laundry room which you have to walk through to get to the garage, and that's where DH and I keep our shoes. We all take our shoes off right when we get home.

Since we dont' wear our shoes in the house, i have a shoe organizer with pockets hanging on the door that goes out into the garage (on the garage side). That way, before I carry them in, I just slip their shoes in a pocket and they're ready for the next outing! Works great!

We're a shoes-off house too, so all the shoes we wear often are right by the door, on a rack. The girls have 1 pair each that they wear every day, and we keep those on the rack with DH's and mine.

They have lots of other shoes that are hardly ever worn (at least not yet -- most of them don't even fit yet) -- sandals, rain boots, dressy shoes, water shoes, etc. All those are in a wire wastebasket by the front door. The girls love it because they can dig through the pile (or dump it all out on the floor) just for fun. It's easy for DH and me because we just throw any stray shoes into the can. If I need something specific, I dump them all out, find what I need, and dump all the rest back in.

The shoes that are several sizes too big, I keep in a bag in the garage. All the ones in the house are ones they might conceivably wear in the next year or so.

I have these from Target, and most of the time, I can get 2 pairs of shoes in one little cube. I do not have it hanging on brackets like the picture, it is sitting on the floor of their closet. My girls are 3.5 and know what shoes are so we have a bit of a shoe/flip flop fettish. :p

I am very happy with this.

Well they only have like 2-3 pairs each at most. We usually keep them in an organizer that we have in the front closet. That way when we are getting ready to go out they are already by the door.
