How do you know which baby is moving?

The last few days I have finally started feeling alot of movement but it seems like it is almost always in the same location. I feel movement on my R. side and down low at the front of my belly. Do you think this is both of them. When are you able to tell the difference?? I know that when you get further along you have to keep an count of movements for the doc so I am just concerned that I will not know if one baby is not moving good???

 

great question I would like to know to. Everytime we have an u/s the girl is low BabyA and the boy is high Baby B but they're getting big enough now that I can't really tell who's kicking or punching where.

 

It is really hard to tell for sure. It really depends on the position of the babies. I loved feeling them move and kick all over the place, even if I didn't know who was doing it!

 

i never knew who was who inless i had just had an ultrasound and knew where they were.

 

It's really hard to tell, until they get more "locked" into position. At the end, I could tell which one was moving or not moving. My baby A was facing inward so I rarely felt him move. Talk about nerve wracking!

 

i always felt baby A more than B up until about 22 weeks, then i would feel both. A has always moved on the right, and B on the left, and even the u/s have shown them this way. They are getting to where i know when they will be moving though. Every morning between 6 and 7 A is awake and moving around, and every night between 9 and 10 they are both awake. B seems to be more nocturnal right now, but as long as i feel him move, i'm happy.

At 21 weeks it is pretty much impossible to tell. I wasn't even feeling consistent movement at that point -- not till more like 24 weeks. Don't worry! When they get bigger and aren't moving around so much, you'll be able to tell that one always kicks you in the cervix and the other in the ribs (or whatever).

FWIW, I never kept a count. It just stressed me out too much. My OB just told me to call if I hadn't felt one of the babies move for several hours.

thanks...that helps...and makes since, I guess if you don't feel movement at all you should be concerned!

 

Early on I could tell who was who and my girl was way more active than my boy. But now they are both head down and I totally cannot tell! But my boy is more active now than he was before ( I think!). I tried not to worry b/c the ultra sounds showed them all the time and they were healthy! I remember I was 22 weeks when I began feeling them. I was terrified that there was something wrong b/c everyone was telling me I should have felt them already. GRRR sometime when people think they are being helpful, they're not! lol! Everyone is different! Congrats!!!

 

I could/can tell because ever since our first u/s at 19 wks they have been in the same position. Baby A (boy) was on my bottom right corner of my stomach. Baby B (girl) was the top left of my stomach. His movement has always been in my pelvis/crotch/right hip and hitting my bladder! :lol: Her movement was always around my belly button. As they grew her movement moved up to below my ribs.

Now, a couple weeks ago the babies dropped, and at our last ultrasound baby boy was now head down with his butt in my ribs, and baby girl was transverse with her butt in her brother's face and her head in my side!

So movement is more difficult to tell who is who, the low stuff I know is Liam, but the belly button stuff I'm not sure if it's rylee or if it's liam kicking! The top left stuff I'm pretty sure is rylee.

 

I can tell as of the last couple weeks, A is head down and she is very low, so when she kicks it is low on the right side. Baby B is head down as well (please both stay that way) and her kicks are stonger higher up, more centered!

 

i was told by the peri and multiples specialist at UCSD yesterday that the reason i always know which one is moving is because i have side-by-side twins instead of bunkbed twins, and sbs twins always stay on the same side. lol i never knew there was a difference. Learn something new every day i guess.


26W0D mono/di boys

 

I could tell pretty easily until last week when they changed positions. They were both breech and one on each side. Now, like a PP, one is head down and one is tranverse across the top. I think I can tell sometimes but not 100% sure - I just make sure I feel some movement in both areas each day.

My doctor wants the kick count but you can stop if you have 3 kicks in less than 10 minutes which I have every morning.
