How do you keep the sickies from going back and forth?

Right now, both my kiddos are sick with colds - they have super runny noses and are coughing. I am trying very hard to keep binky sharing at a minimum (they both steal binkys from each others mouths  ) and am using sani-wipes on all the toys a few times a day and then wiping the toys with a hot towel... but I just have this sneaking suspicion that these germs are going to keep bouncing back and forth just as one starts getting better...

What methods and tricks do you use to help keep the germs from re-spreading?

    Thanks for your help! :)

Usually, no matter how clean I kept things... if one had it the other would get it.

I did spray lysol and antibacterial things.

Ditto. By the time one has it enough so that you know they are ill, the other has already been exposed to it enough to get it as well. But my one twin gets everything respiratory and the other gets everything stomach related, but they don't pass that back and forth. Just different little people, I guess! We do use those antisepctic wipes, jusy soap and water, and some of that Clorox anywhere spray to try and help.

I'm with you, though, I think the germs just bounce back and forth.

I usually wipe down whatever is "wipeable" with the clorox anywhere spray and use a lot of handwashing and Purell when possible. I also do not feed from jars with the same spoon ever. There are times when one is sick and the other doesnt get it and I pat myself on the back, but right now they both have a head cold so I guess there is not a whole lot that works .

I never worried about it, I found it impossible to keep things completely separate. If one was sick, the other one would usually end up sick then I'd clean everything and we'd be fine. It never went back and forth though.

There's really no good way to do it. I gave up trying. Amazingly, sometimes when one is sick the other doesn't catch it!

i had three .. not triplets but in the same year.. if it was hard plastic.. i threw it in the dish washer..

if it was a stuffy.. i threw it in the pillow case.. in the washer i stripped beds daily.. because they need more rest.. and more germs from that rest.

dont leave bottles/ cups laying around..
take binkis away until bed time.

i actually kept my three from getting THRUSH.. durring a stage when everyone puts stuff in their mouth..

    i was shocked:)

I'm the same way as Michelle... can't fight it because once one of them shows symptoms they've both been exposed. -Leighann

I put stuffed animals in the washer, hard plastic in the dishwasher and I put the rest in the bathtub and spray it with Dow scrubbing bubbles or wipe it with Lysol wipes. Speaking of that - guess what I'm going to do today??? ;)
