How do you grocery shop?

Hi ladies--now that my babies are a little more manageable I enjoy taking them out. I'd like to be able to shop with them and not waste my my mom's valuable babysitting time on this task.

Do any of you do this and if so, how? Does joining Costco help (not sure if bigger carts fit both babies in the top seat area?)

Something that has helped is ordering nonperishables online from Amazon grocery (free shipping on orders over $25) Great having diapers & other large items delivered right to my door.

    Thanks!

I just did this the other day when I went to WalMart for the first time with all three by myself. What I did is I carried one baby in a baby bajorn type thing, one baby stayed in their carseat and I attached it to the cart and I put my toddler in the basket part of the cart. I got a lot of looks, but at least I got what I wanted. They did okay considering the fact that I lost a binkie.

That is nice about the Amazon, I have heard it before, I think I might have to start doing it. Thanks for the suggestion! :)

Anytime I take all 3 to the store by myself (which I am getting pretty good at and do quite a bit now) I put the twins in their stroller and DS in the cart. If DS stays in the seat part then I push the stroller with one hand and the cart with the other. If DS is in the basket part then I push the stroller with one hand and either pull the cart on the end or hold onto the side pulling it that way.

    It's do-able. Good luck.

I go in the weekend, only with my oldest and usually during the week with my oldest when I have a baby sitter for the twins. Occassionally I'll walk to the supermarket with the twins when the oldest is in school. I've done with 3 kids, but have no desire to do so at this moment and if it's not necessary I'd rather not.

I have a 2yo and 6 mo twins. I put the 2 yo and one twin in the double stroller, the other twin goes into the bjorn. Then I hang a huge LLBean tote off the hanle of the stroller and load it up! I also load up the basket underneath. It's quite a scene but it works! We're about to take a trip to the store right now actually.

I have done this several ways. I prefer the stores with either the car carts or the big double seater carts. Even when the babies were 6 months old I could buckle them into those big double seat carts and they'd be happy, they can see everything, and then my (at the time 2 yr old) would sit in the cart seat. I did the one baby in a wrap and one in the cart and the toddler in the basket thing.

When they were both in infant seats I did one baby hooked on one cart and would pull that and put groceries in the basket and push the other cart with my other infant and toddler (they varied on who was were). It really is doable. I often take all 5 five, and they really do fine. The worst thing is loading all the groceries at the end.

My daughter is about the same age as your son.

For me - I have to two cart it. I put one baby in her seat in one cart and the other in the other cart. The four year old and seven year old each need to hold on to one of the carts. I push the carts of course but the only time the four year old and seven year old can let go of the cart is if they are "helping" me get something off the shelf.

If it is a small trip I put one baby in a bjorn and the other in the cart. The older kids, again, must both hold on to the cart.

We go shopping once a week so we do this all the time and it works for us! Good luck!

if I only need a few things I put one baby in the top seat and one in the basket in their carseats, while DD walks next to the cart and holds on... mostly. I put stuff around the carseats and under the cart. if I have alot DH usually will go w/ me on the weekend, or he watches them and i get to go alone!

I put the babies in their car seats in the cart and put Emma in the cart between the seats and stuff groceries in the gaps. For big grocery shopping expeditions I leave the kids with DH.

I push the twins in the stroller and put Josh in the cart and pull it.
