Hi all...I'm pretty new here...just curious how you all feed the babies...bf? pump? formula? feed at the same time or one right after another? Any tricks out there to make this a quick process??? With mine eating every 3 hours, and the whole feeding, burping, changing diapers routine taking me an hour + it seems like I'm just doing this over and over all day long. Nothing else is getting done, including spending quality time with my 4 yo DD. Just looking for some helpful tricks ;) Thanks!

At that age, I fed them in boppy pillows on each side of me. I fed them at the same time. I would change them first, then feed them together, then burp them both. It tended to take 30 minutes or so.

Now, I feed them in their bouncy seats (the bigger they got, the better the bouncy seats worked for me). I still do them at the same time. I still change them first, feed, then burp after. Now it only takes 10-15 minutes :D

    Oh, and I formula feed.

I've always fed mine together...I found it was the most time efficient. At that age, I'd put one in my lap & one next to me in the Boppy when I was bottle feeding or tandem nurse when I was bfing. I didn't like the bouncy seats when they were that young, but those did come in handy when they were older, except they were hard on my back. I've always resorted to one in the lap & one next to me.....still do (only now the one next to me holds his own!)....

And like the pps, I always diapered first, fed, & alternated burping as needed with the feeding. I don't recall how long it took....the whole process was probably around 30 mins or so?

Hi I breastfeed, I do it together as much as possible. I also do the whole change diaper first, feed burp routine.

You are at a time that it does seem like an endless cycle! My guys are just 11 weeks old and I can tell you it gets much easier! Hang in there ;)

I formula fed and always fed mine together. They were in their bouncy seats for a while in the beginning and when I was alone I would use the Little Wonders Bottle Bundle bottle proppers. I eventually moved them to their boppy pillows on the couch and when they got to wiggly, I would put the boppy pillows on the floor. The bottle bundles were a lifesaver for me!!

I breastfeed one and bottle formula feed the other. One thing I have found helpful was the podee bottles. They carry them at babies r us. The first three months is very tiresome. I am not going to lie. Mine are just now getting to the point where it is a bit easier.

In the beginning I breastfed, one at a time and it felt like I was always nursing. It was really hard. At three months, I went to 100% formula feeding. I always feed mine at the same time. In the beginning everything seemed to take so long because my boys took forever to eat. Now one of my DSs can down an eight ounce bottle in 10 minutes. The other takes a little longer, but not as long as in the beginning. Things are much easier now that they don't eat as often and they can eat faster.

I always fed mine (and still do) at the same time and I prop their bottles a lot so I can do other things (like fold laundry or put laundry away or throw in a load of laundry:) ).... I'm hoping in the next month or two that they'll be holding their own bottles! I'm doing formula and they eat much quicker than they used to... I actually change them last- with my boys eating brings on the urge to pee and poop... Good luck- it will get easier!

In the beginning-it does feel like all you do is feed, burp, change, repeat!

    I pump...and I am done at 6 months-NEXT MONTH! I also supplement with formula.

I put both boys in one boppy-they barely fit-and feed them that way. I find it easier to feed both at the same time. Otherwise it takes forever. Once my boys were a bit older, I was more comfortable at feeding them this way. I would put one over my knees to burp, and another over my shoulder. It's amazing what you figure out to do when you are on your own!

I have always bf and tried to do it tandem, I didn't at first or when they were having trouble nursing well. I remember it taking 1 1/2 hours to feed, burp, change both babies. About 6 weeks it got shorter and by 2 mo it was only like 30 min. Mine got to be really fast eaters so that helped.
