Hi, I am new to this forum and I'm so happy that I found this site  . We live in Florida and whew...summertime is definately here. I am wondering how you dress your baby day and night during summertime?

One of my boys is having a heat rash all over his body (it's been 5 days), we went to ped yesterday and he said that it'll go away. this morning I noticed that he has more rather than getting better. Do you know any remedies to heal the rash? the funny thing is his brother doesn't have any.
    Thanks for all your suggestions.

    mom to b/b twins 4 1/2 mos.

I live in NY so I don't know about clothing, but my boys get weird rashes a lot (sensitive skin) and I use hydro cortisone cream for everything. I love that stuff!

I live in Florida too......and yes it is HOT!! Where about are you? I dress mine in onsies and shorts or tank top type rompers for my Ds and little tank dresses for my DD, no socks and sunscreen if we are going out for a walk.

Walmart has onsies and shorts for boys and girls.....love them!! They are cheap and cute!!

Oh and at night we used to do the halo sacks but its to hot for that. I put them to bed in onsies with thin pants, no socks and they are just fine.

Yay another set of FL twins! :welcome: I put my babies in onesies during the day, and a gown at night. My husband likes to freeze us at night with the a/c, so I dressed them fairly warm even though it's hot outside!

During the day if it is above 70 degrees, then onsie and shorts. If its hotter than that, just a onsie. Sometimes, a t-shirt and cloth diaper. Nighttime is a bit different till we turn on the ac. It's just a shorts coverall thing. If the ac is on, then long sleeves and long pants or one piece outfit with long sleeves. It can get pretty cool in here and I don't want them to get cold.

We live in SC with our 4-month-old boys, and it's hot here, too! During the day, I dress them in a onesie and shorts, or a one-piece romper (shorts and short sleeves). At night I dress them in a onesie plus their swaddle blankets--with the window A/C unit in their room at 70 so they don't get hot in the swaddle blankets! (They do not sleep well unswaddled!)

We are in Tampa, what about you?

Thanks for all your replies, I'll run to walmart and get more onesies ;) . They haven't been swaddled since they were 2 mos old (they hated it after 2 mos old, everytime I swaddled them they'll cry), so it's easier to keep them from being overheated during the night (their room is warmer than the rest of the house).

:welcome: There are quite a few of us in Tampa Bay! Our house is always between 72 and 74 degrees, so when we were home, I'd keep the boys in onesies w/pants and socks, but if we went out, I'd take off the pants. I also liked those one piece outfits that snap all the way down the front. Like this.

For the heat rash, try baby powder and try to keep it dry. It should heal up within a week or so.

Yup, welcome to Tampa twins! We seem to have our own little niche on TS. As for what my two were wearing during the summers (they were born in August 2007) it would be onesies and socks for inside, onesies without socks for outside.
