My guys wake up at 6-630 sometimes 7 if I'm really lucky...They are MISERABLE around 730 8 sometimes earlier and I have to put them down for a nap..How do those of you who put them down at 9 do that? Do they get up later than mine? Maybe I'm not entertaining them enough..but there seems only so much I can do and they just get to cranky!! They sleep about an hour or so and then get the next nap at 12..
it took a long time for mine to get to the 9am nap time. most of my friends had their twins going down at that time for months before me. they have been doing the 9am nap time probably since they turned 11 months or so. they did it on their own for the most part, but you have to keep them busy and entertained. my mornings look like this: 5:30-6:00 - wake up - sippy - i try not to get them out of their cribs until 1/2 hr. after they wake up...they are usually playing and chatting first anyway. 7:00am - breakfast play until they start to get tired 8:30-9am - usually when they go down for a nap and they may sleep anywhere from 1-2 hrs. i try to put them down for their next nap at 1pm. it all really depends on how the day is going too. good luck! Lois
My son wakes up the same time as your little guys do and he goes down for 9 and second nap 1. He started that at 13mths when my girls started school. I just had to deal with him being cranky and crying until he got used to going down around 9 (I drop my girls off at school for 9 so when we get back he goes straight down for a nap). For me it was trying to keep him up and entertained and just getting used to the new routine. Is there a reason you want to have them down for 9 instead of 8?
This is how our morning goes: 6:30-7am- Wake, sippy of milk, and breakfast We play on the floor and when they start getting cranky, usually around 8:30, I give them a snack and a little more milk. That's the best thing that helps me get them to 9:00am....Baby Einstein helps too Crystal
It seems when I put them down at 730 or 8 they are asleep for a half hour and are up...they eventually talk themselves bcak to sleep but I'm thinking if I could hold them off until 830 or 9 they will sleep solidly for an hour or 2 instead of this interrupted sleep. When they are at daycare they don't get a morning nap (I have no idea how b/c they are extremely cranky) and was thinking that maybe they are just more entertained there.
I'll admit that I gradually worked mine up to 9, using tv. If mine would get cranky around 8, I would flip on the tv until 8:30 then each day I pushed it back a little later and got up to 9.
