Usually I put both baby carriers in the cart and pack the food in around them [IMG] . But we are now using the new carseats so I don't have the carriers anymore. The girls sit with support but not on their own. So how in the heck do I go to the grocery store with them now?? What do you all do?

I bring the stroller and push it and a cart at the same time. Usually I push the stroller in front of me and pull the cart behind. If I'm grabbing a few things and not doing a full shopping trip I'll just put the stuff underneath the stroller. I have a Graco DuoGlider. Have you tried putting one of the girls in the seat in the cart? She might be able to handle it if you strap her in. And then you could put the other baby in Baby Bjorn or other type of carrier, if you have one.

Or, you could just go after your dh is home from work! No babies [IMG]

I am very lucky bc Kroger has twin carts equiped with 2 infant seats on the top rack and a car in the front for my son to ride in. They all have lots of funa nd when Chris starts school the girls will both be able to ride in the car.

I put them in the big part of the cart (when they were that age) and put blankets around them. Sure, they played with the groceries, but it worked out for us, and the shopping got done.

You can also use put one in the child-seat part of the cart and use a Bumbo in the basket part.

Me too. I am not brave enough to take the twins. But for those of you that do [IMG]

The bumbo idea is a good one! So is the baby bjorn. I have one but never used it. Maybe I'll have to break it out.

I push the stroller, pull the cart. I just tried it a week ago, and it was a lot easier then I thought it would be.

I don't take them to the grocery store. I either go at night or on the weekend when DH is home, or if I don't need a huge number of things I take my lunch hour and go while the nanny is here (I work from home and have a nanny who watches them 8-5 M-F while I work).

I wait for DH to come home or my mom to come over. If they're both busy I'll also order from Peapod.com. I'm lucky in the fact that they service my area.

I have down the double front pack, I think it is called the Maximom twin carrier. The twins love it, but I have to be really careful not to bump them. I did it last week and I didn't have any crying the whole time. With my other DD I used a floppy seat. Unfortunately, Sam's club is the only one around hear with a double seat that can accomodate a double floppy seat. I don't know what I will do when they outgrow the front pack and the carriers!

    1. For big shops, I go solo. Or I take only 1 baby.
    2. One in BabyBjorn, one in cart. I got this great thing for the shopping cart from BRU. It's one big velcro wraparound thing so they can situp supported. I don't see it on their website, but it's denim stripes and can be used for high chairs too.
    3. Use the stroller. I put groceries under the stroller, behind the stroller (in a clip on stroller bag), and I carry a canvas bag on my arm/shoulder for the lighter stuff (bread).

I'm with Sarah!! I don't take them unless I have to!

I wait and go during a nap or something while dh is home or just go when he's there and have some alone time at the grocery! I can concentrate better that way!!

I wait until DH gets home from work, and I take my 2 year old. That way she gets out of the house and gets some mommy time.

I haven't even thought about attempting it with the twins. I don't see how it's possible. The time and effort to make it work and how slow I would move around the store... just makes more sense to do it on the weekend when hubbie is home. I give kudos to those who do go with twins/more than 1 kid!

I did the same thing and loved it! Now I just put one in the cart and another one on top of the cart, or if I'm not doing a very big shopping, than I put both of them inside of the cart and they are having lots of fun with each other [IMG]

I always just shopped with my Duoglider. It carried both babies and had tons of storage room in the bottom to hold groceries. I'm a good packer so I could fit a lot of food in the storage basket. I usually went shopping 1-2 times a week at that stage.
