How do you do naps?

I am just curious what everyone has done. Do you schedule naps this early or let them sleep when they sleep?

I am just putting my DD into her crib and my DS in the pnp in the living room during their naps. They have been in the family room with me and my wild toddler and it's just easier to take care of them here. But, I'm thinking they may need to be away from all the noise. What do you guys do/did?

At that age they slept wherever, whenever! Mostly in their bouncies or swings during the day. Around 4 months we transitioned to the cribs, and by 5-6 months our naps were more regular.

Mine didn't start regular naps in cribs until 3 months when they slept for 12-13 hours at night. Until then it was whenever and wherever they were.

we don't have a schedule persay, i try to put them down within 1-1.5 hours of being awake, that's about all they can handle. they usually sleep in the pnp in our living room or on our playmat if i need to seperate them, they have never been much for sleeping in the swing/bouncy seats.

Ditto for us. Mine even slept in the PNP in the kitchen too.

Yep, that young it's wherever, whenever!

Now that they're older, we don't nap by the clock but watch the window of wakefulness. They're always ready to go down again 1.5-2 hrs after they last woke up.

Ditto! I remember thinking they were never going to sleep in their cribs b/c they were sleeping in swings until 12 or more weeks but then one day I decided it would be fine and it was. Some days they caught naps with my wild toddler running around screaming and other days quietly in their cribs!

Mine love the car seats so that is where they sleep mostly during the day. At night we hold them a lot and they will sleep in our arms. Then they sleep in bassinets during the night.

We nap in swings - exclusivly. We tried crib naps - and though the boys are really good about sleeping in their cirbs at night - they'll have none of it for nap. Actually - that isn't stricly true - they go down just fine in the crib - but wake within 20-30 min - CRANKY (yawning - crying etc) because they still want to sleep - and I can't seem to get them to go back to sleep in the crib -- whereas in the swings - they still wake up after the same 20-30min, BUT - they look around for like 1 min - and drift right back to sleep for a much longer period (sometime I have to wake them after they get to the 3 hour mark). Right now I think they are making up for some sleep deprivation (when thought mistakenly they only NEEDED 30 min naps -- and BOY did that make for GRUMPY babies!!) and have for the last week wanted to go down no more then an hour after they first woke up - and have slept for almost 7 hours in naps (and slept through the night 11 hours last night)....
