I'm really getting "fed" up with special food requests or affirmative responses to ideas for meals that they then do NOT eat?! :nea:

Last night was mac and cheese and this morning it was a request for another french toast stick that only got one bit taken out of it?!

It's starting to send me over the edge!!!

I have 2 year old boy girl twins and this happens ALL the time. I was wasting so much food and time and getting so mad that i just stopped taking orders and made one meal that everyone liked and that was that. At first they didnt like it and wouldnt eat very well but as soon as they realized thats all there was they were getting they just ate what they were given. I was a stickler for awhile about no options but i've slowly let they have more options but if they dont eat the meal they ask for they get nothing else till the next meal.

Happens here too! This morning they wanted biscuits and gravy and hardly touched it.

lol.....I remember when I was a kid & we'd spend the night at Grandma's. She'd always ask what we wanted for lunch & my sister especially loved to come up with crazy stuff. One day I think she asked for something like a "peanut butter, mayonaise & pickle sandwich". My grandma made it & then made her eat it! After that she quit. :)

Not that's my suggestion.....it just brought back the memory for me. :D

My 7 year old will still ask for more of something and then take a bite or two. Sorry, I'm sure that didn't help.

Happens here too! All the time. I don't have any advice, haven't found anything that works, but you are not alone!!

How about wrapping it up and putting in the fridge for the next meal? This way they are getting what they want, you're not wasting food, and they see that if they ask for it they do have to eat it

I stomp around and throw a fit! No, not really, that's just what I feel like doing :p I usually leave it out for awhile and then let them know it's getting put away or thrown out and that is it until the next meal (no snacks). Jet usually could care less but that is enough to make Troy come running and eat it.
